A national movement to counter the silencing of women’s voices in corporate Australia is underway and women in travel are being urged to take advantage of the training and a 10% discount. LJ Loch, who has extensive experience working with many of Australia’s high-profile travel brands, says the Outspoken Women business (https://www.outspokenwomen.com/she runs with journalist and producer Louise Pascale grew out of a need to empower the best female talent in Australian industry.

“I know from experience the Australian travel landscape is incredibly competitive for women starting out in their careers or mid-career,” Ms Loch said.

“After looking back on our careers, we both realised that in some cases it didn’t matter that we were the most talented, experienced or passionate people in the room. Being talked over in meetings or on industry panels, having our ideas dismissed or claimed by men in the room, suffering from imposter syndrome is something many women tell us they share.”

“We set up Outspoken Women to help other women to crystallise their passion and heart for their work into tangible benefits in the form of stronger negotiating skills, gravitas in presenting and enhanced productivity for their organisations.”

While workplace structures, such as the 15.3% gender pay gap, unconscious bias and ‘boys’ clubs’, are holding women back, training in breaking down these barriers is priceless to both exceptional female executives and the businesses they work for.

Each tailored masterclass also offers scholarship places to culturally and linguistically diverse women, survivors of domestic violence and marginalised women. Applications for the masterclass scholarships are now open via the Scholarships section on the website.

“From women who are a couple of years into their careers, to women transitioning into corporate leadership roles, there’s an appetite to take more control in the professional environment and to really ‘own’ your success,” Ms Loch said. “To help women in travel do that, we’re thrilled to offer a 10% discount.”

“We use real-world scenarios to help you control your nerves, find your authentic voice, use microphones, lecterns and visual aids, improve body language, gesture and eye contact and present for video, webcast and Skype.”

Places are filling quickly for the full day masterclasses (2 trainers, tailored content and max of 20 in a class), with tickets available via https://www.outspokenwomen.com/bookings.  The #TravelRoar discount brings the price for the full day down to $724.50 ex GST
