The Star Sydney has unveiled its newest offering, with the Event Centre welcoming a top-of-the-line 20m x 8m cinema screen supported by a world-first 4K DLP Digital Cinema® Projector, and upgraded surround sound system that exceeds Dolby standards.
The technology delivers a brilliant audio visual experience, even capable of screening 3D vision, for film premieres and a range of live events.
Jayson Heron, Director of Sales at The Star Sydney commented on the new opportunities that the technically advanced cinema screen brings to the Event Centre.
“As the premier events and entertainment destination, we continually reinvest in the Event Centre to ensure the offering enhances Australia’s best events.
“This acquisition perfectly complements our in-house technological expertise and gives us the capability of hosting movie premieres of any scale, as well as exhibiting films for a range of events, using the latest cinema screen technology.
“This technology promises new ways of engaging audiences and affirms our vision to be the most innovative, technically superior venue, at the forefront of the Australian events industry,” said Mr Heron.
The Christie CP4230 is the first projector of its kind capable of displaying premium 4K content or 2D and 3D High Frame Rate (HFR) feature films, while the massive 20m x 8m silver Harkness Cinevision screen offers expansive, clear vision and is capable of adapting 2D, 3D and 4D cinematography.
The new and upgraded D&B speakers provide true LCR (left centre right) surround sound, while Dolby certification and a 9.1 – 11.3 + ATMOS rating, means the Event Centre is one of the few venues in Australia capable of maintaining multi-zoned surround sound to create a totally immersive cinema experience.
The Star is partnered with Ticketek, the most advanced multi-channel ticket sale and distribution network, together offering additional promotional opportunities for film premieres at the Event Centre.
