World-Class Wellness at Top Five Destinations for Rejuvenation

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts offers a variety of destinations across the globe to host revitalising escapes and wellness boosts for families, couples and individuals. Located across Africa, the Middle East and Asia, the international upscale hotel group has selected the top locations for wellness that offer a different approach to pampering, using local organic ingredients and natural materials in the products and treatments provided by the destinations.

With the growth in health travel fifty percent higher than that of regular holiday travel*, the health and wellness offering has had to evolve to deliver more, from nurturing massages for mothers-to-be, bespoke experiences for men and a whole range of unique forms of spa relaxation, as well as water and flotation therapies for healing.

The wellness journey begins in Northern Africa, where the Mövenpick Hotel Casablanca in Morocco is centrally located in the buzzing district of Casablanca, close to a number of popular tourist sites for a true taste of Moroccan culture.

Guests can indulge in a Moroccan body scrub or unwind in the hamam – a traditional bath similar to that of a sauna, ideal for an intense cleansing experience, elevated by a range of soaps and soothing massage oils.

Whilst unwinding, guests can enjoy Chamomile tea, served to give the immune system a boost. The massage therapist specialises in muscle manipulation and will work to relieve pain, reduce tension and improve circulation. The intimate wellness centre is situated on the 16th floor and the rooftop swimming pool offers guests a chace to take a dip and enjoy breathtaking views of the city at dusk.

Staying in Africa, on the horizon of Tunisia’s liveliest town lies the Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa Sousse; stretching along a white sandy beachfront, with palm trees and exquisite 5-star Mediterranean vistas.

The Marine spa has a unique interpretation of well-being with the thalassotherapy centre, which provides the medical use of seawater which has beneficial effects on the pores of the skin. Guests can also choose from the range of therapies including the Sahara Sand scrub and the Thalgo detoxifying seaweed wrap, a full on body wrap experience using pure micronised algae.

Moving to a Middle Eastern gem, the 5-star Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea is on the northern shores of the Dead Sea, set at the lowest point on earth, which makes it 9.6 times as salty as the ocean. The award-winning Arabian Dead Sea Zara Spa uses the salt and minerals here to create exclusive indigenous cosmetics and herbal products to cleanse, purify and restore the skin’s natural minerals.

Recommended treatments include the Natural Dead Sea Salt scrub, which will leave your skin glowing but also have a purifying effect from within, and the Exceptional Mud Wrap, which stimulates new skin cells and eases rheumatic pain. Tai Chi classes, often described as “meditation in motion” are held in the garden and a Yoga program to help maintain strength, flexibility and balance, is available too. For mums-to-be, the spa offers a full body massage designed to answer the development needs of both mother and baby.

Located in one of the most scenic destinations in Asia,Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu is a 5-star beachfront hotel in the Philippines set on its own private beach. The Spa Del Mar offers guests their signature ‘hilot’ therapy; a traditional Filipino healing massage that promotes physical and mental rejuvenation by releasing tension and facilitating the flow of neuro electrical energy in the body.

Guests can also choose from a series of massage and beauty treatments, based on organic and natural ingredients from the region, such as the seaweed used for the Thalasso Bath and the corn grind in the scrub for the traditional Filipino package. A Honeymoon package is also available and includes side-by-side pampering through fruity body wraps, followed by a ginger healing bath and massage.

The last stop is nestled in the tropical paradise of Phuket; Mövenpick Resort & Spa Karon Beach is surrounded by turquoise waters and gardens. The Spa balances the traditions of the East and the West to create a luxurious, soul-soothing experience. Guests can opt for an Oriental Body Glow Scrub or a traditional Thai massage with techniques used to help the body detoxify and rebalance. The scenic outdoor bathing pool is perfect for couples and individuals looking for a peaceful break to unwind and improve their health too.
