Gold Coast-based resort representation company, World Resorts of Distinction (WRD), continues to expand its global portfolio with the addition of Cam Ranh – Vietnam’s most luxurious resort, The Anam, to its curated collection of luxurious, environmentally-conscious resorts.

CEO, Tess Willcox, said WRD’s current footprint doesn’t include any properties in Vietnam, which is enjoying unprecedented growth out of the Antipodean market, so the beachfront resort already holds a special place in her team’s heart.

“It’s no secret that Vietnam is an increasingly popular tourist destination for Australians; so we’re really excited about the opportunity this union presents to connect travellers with one of the country’s most covetable resorts,” she said.

Situated on the northern section of Cam Ranh peninsula, The Anam is less than 20 minutes by car from Cam Ranh International Airport, which is easily accessible from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, with daily flights from both cities.

The Anam’s striking design pays homage to both colonial-era and age-old Vietnamese aesthetics, featuring imperial Hue-style roofs, glowing lanterns, decorative pools and customised mosaic tiles.

World-class facilities include a spa, three restaurants and two bars, 3D movie theatre, a ballroom, conference facilities, water sports centre, yoga room and deck, tennis court, kids’ club and three swimming pools.

Complementing the region’s impeccable weather – where guests can expect an envious 300 days of sunshine a year – the 12-hectare property is shaded by approximately 3,000 palm trees and fronts 300 metres of private beach overlooking the East Sea and nearby islands.

Celebrated as one of Vietnam’s most picture-perfect seaside enclaves, the location is revered by resort staff, who make a conscious effort to maintain stringent sustainability practices to ensure there is minimal impact on the local environment.

“The Anam curbs the use of plastic as much as possible by discontinuing single-use plastics, such as plastic bags, drinking bottles and straws,” Tess said. “From an aesthetic perspective, the use of natural stone and sustainably harvested timber throughout the resort allows it to blend into its natural setting.”

Impressively, some 3,000 palm trees were planted as part of the project, along with pink and white Frangipani, Banyan trees, banana fans, hedges of hibiscus and bougainvillea, and beds of spider lily and canna. Such landscaping took precise planning at the very earliest stages to ensure plant placement did not require adjustment once construction began. The Beach Club bar is situated perpendicular to the beach to make the most of the sea breeze and minimise solar gain. It has the same roof arrangement as the villas, but the gablets are open to assist with cooling.

“We are delighted to add The Anam to our portfolio – their eco-luxe philosophy, coupled with a commitment to spectacular service, aligns beautifully with our own vision,” Tess said.
