After successful forums in Shanghai in 2014 and São Paulo in 2016, the 3rd World Tourism Forum Lucerne Talent Boost will host leading international tourism experts and esteemed speakers in Brisbane this week to address challenges and opportunities for Queensland’s booming tourism industry, hosted in collaboration with The University of Queensland Business School.

The World Tourism Forum Lucerne Talent Boost will see tourism heavyweights from across the globe gather in the River City, including motivational speaker and best-selling author Dr Jason Fox and Social Researcher & Trends AnalystDirector of Research McCrindle Eliane Miles.

With tourism contributing close to $26 billion to Queensland’s economy in 2016/2017 and visitor numbers on the rise, pressure is mounting on the industry to ‘think outside the box’ and develop new initiatives to attract and retain young talent.

The esteemed forum event will discuss how to inspire the tourism industry’s current and future workforce, celebrate the existing talent initiatives being undertaken and present a new perspective on how to address the national tourism and hospitality workforce shortage.

The World Tourism Forum Lucerne Talent Boost will take place on Friday 18 May at Customs House in Brisbane and will be officially opened by the Honorable Kate Jones, Queensland Minister for Innovation and Tourism Industry Development.
