World Navigator Jason is once again kicking off another year of World Tour, starting from New Zealand. Jason will spend the next 12 months crisscrossing the globe, staying at dozens of Worldhotels member properties, visiting the best these cities have to offer.

Each month of Jason’s trip, we’ll follow him to a new destination, from Singapore to Scandinavia, France to Florida. Let’s follow Jason this month to New Zealand, taking a look at what makes it so fantastic.

New Zealand’s largest city is Auckland, home to a dizzying number of cafés worth lingering in, big department stores and independent boutiques. Stamford Plaza Auckland is located in the heart of the city, minutes from the harbour, ferries, and the railway station. New Zealand boasts incredible nature, from rainforests to golden beaches, more than 40 volcanoes, and vineyards galore. Some of the world’s best wine is made in New Zealand, and the country is renowned for its chardonnays, pinot gris, and syrahs.

Just a few hours away by flight lies Australia, the world’s smallest continent and largest island, home to an unbelievable number of natural treasures, including the Great Barrier Reef. Tread on the white sand of Sydney’s famous Bondi Beach, admire the splendid Opera House, and watch the sun set over Darling Harbour. For stunning views over the harbour, check into ultra-modern The Darling, home to legendary New York restaurateur David Chang’s Momofuku Seiōbo. In Melbourne, consistently named the world’s most liveable city, sip on freshly brewed coffee, linger over brunch, and stroll through quaint back alleys. Stay right downtown at the 283-room Stamford Plaza Melbourne, surrounded by tram stops, the city’s top restaurants and bars, and right next to lovely Fitzroy Gardens.

Further afield, in Adelaide’s Glenelg neighborhood, Stamford Grand Adelaide offers guests prime accommodation a minute from the beach, right on the shores of Gulf St. Vincent. Like its Adelaide sister, Stamford Plaza Brisbane sits on the bank of the edge of the Brisbane River, adjacent to the lush City Botanic Gardens. Along Australia’s iconic Gold Coast, Jupiter’s Hotel & Casino, located on Broadbeach Island, offers spacious rooms, ocean views, and a lively casino, just 20 minutes from the airport.

“We’re thrilled to be starting another exciting Worldhotels World Tour this year, and particularly to begin in one of the most beautiful corners of the world,” said Worldhotels Executive Vice President Asia Pacific Roland Jegge. “This is an exciting opportunity for us to showcase all the superb amenities our New Zealand and Australia hotels have to offer. Next month, we look forward to taking our World Tour across the Pacific Ocean, to the U.S.A.’s Sunshine State.”
