The Premier of New South Wales (NSW), Mike Baird, along with NSW Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events and Minister for Sport, Stuart Ayres today welcomed the greatest ice hockey player of all time, Wayne Gretzky, to Sydney.

Premier Baird and Minister Ayres joined Wayne Gretzky and some junior NSW hockey players, on a custom pop-up ice rink in front of a spectacular Sydney Harbour backdrop. Wayne Gretzky is making his first visit to Sydney, secured exclusively by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.

With a career that spanned 21 seasons, Wayne Gretzky is regarded far and wide as the best player to ever put on skates and hit the ice, hence the nickname ‘The Great One’.
