Worldwide bicycle schemes inspire chain reaction

The popularity of bike sharing schemes has inspired a chain reaction with some of the mostvisited cities across the world bowing to the power of the pedal. With schemes launching in Paris, San Francisco, New York, London and Barcelona, the popularity of tourists taking to two wheels shows no sign of abating.

Leading travel insurance provider Travel Insurance Direct reveals some of the most popular cycling tours world-wide, from the thrill of downhill rides for the tenacious adrenaline junkie, to gourmet cruises for those who prefer their circuits littered with restaurants, pubs and wine cellars.

1. Thrill seekers
