The fourth edition of WTM Latin America, which will take place between 29 – 31 March in Expo Center Norte in São Paulo, at the same time as the 45th Braztoa Business Event, will have a varied programme of seminars that focus on technology within the Travel Tech Show at WTM, which brings together the most important technology companies that work with the tourism sector and that find the exhibition to be an ideal environment in which to do business and for forming new partnerships. The conferences will take place in the Travel Tech Auditorium, which shares the space with the technology exhibitors that are concentrated in an exclusive area in the exhibition.
On the first day of WTM Latin America 2016, Silvia Oliveira, president of the ABBV (Brazilian Association of Travel Blogs), will analyse the relationship between travel, destination and trade blogs at 13:00, while at 14:40 the Sales and Partnerships Director of YouVisit, Mike Turino, will invite participants to discuss the use of virtual reality in the tourist scenario and the behaviour of travellers towards this technology.
For those who seek more productivity in their companies, at 16:20 the Senior Solutions Engineer of Duetto, Tim Kolman, will give a presentation on an extensive revenue management system that is easy to use, at the expense of the well-known Excel spreadsheets. Along the same lines, during the seminar led by Geovani de Aguiar from North American company, Kigo, at 17:10, hoteliers will be able to get to know solutions for optimizing their administration time, for attracting more guests and, as a result, increasing reservation revenues.
The topic of technology for optimizing time and increasing revenue is also dealt with in other seminars: on Wednesday the 30th at 15:30, Fabrizio Scuppa, CEO of Octorate, will deal with managing reservations online and the consequent increase in profits. At 16:20, Pilar Osório, TravelClick’s Strategic Sales Director for Latin America, will debate changes in the digital world and how video content can help increase the number of direct reservations.
Also on Wednesday at 17:10, the session led by Lefteris Sergidis, the CEO of The Travelbook Group, will show how a complete service solution can help hotels compete in the current world market and increase recognition, revenues and sales.
One of the most important contemporary marketing tools, social networks, could not be left out of the seminar programme at WTM Latin America. The Vice President of Traveltek for the Americas, Jonathan Mac Donald, for example, will deal with the evolution and growth of mobile devices and the integration of social networks on Tuesday the 29th at 15:30.
On Thursday the 31st at 13:00, the Executive Director of JAM. Co Comunicação e Conteúdo, Ana Laura Ravagnani, will discuss the new digital marketing and how companies can convert their presence on social networks into real business. Those interested in extracting the very best that Facebook has to offer will find the best practices for managing the social network’s pages in the seminar led by the CEO of Opera2, Eder Sambo, on the last day of the show at 13:50.
Technology as an ally of the transport sector will also be on the agenda and be discussed by the Global Partnerships Director of Holiday Taxis, Alex Rogers, on Wednesday the 30th at 14:40, and by the Managing Director of BlaBlaCar in Brazil, Ricardo Leite, on Thursday the 31st at 16:20.
As part of the recognition of the importance of technology to the sector, WTM Latin America 2016 will also have two presentations by Internet giant, Google. In the first, on the 29th at 18:15, the speakers will be André Azevedo, a company Account Executive, and Keith Matsumoto, Tourism Industry Analyst. On the following day at 14:30, the speaker will be Vinicius Landucci, New Business Manager. In these sessions the specialists will present a frequently brought-up topic, the true value of digital. These sessions, in particular, will take place in the Conference Theatre.
