This week is World Meat Free Week, urging people everywhere to go meat-free for seven days. As the conversation around plant-based diets continues to drive media coverage, including Forbes’ recent article on Beyoncé’s and Jay-z’s whole-food plant-based diet for health, vitality and better performance, recent research by OpenTable has unearthed Australia’s passion for sustainable dining, revealing that four in five Australians seek ethically-sourced food when dining out.

OpenTable also found that 43 per cent of Australians declare preservation of natural resources as the main reason why they prefer sustainably-sourced food, and that 42 per cent stated the ability to reduce and avoid the impact of animal cruelty is also compelling grounds for eating sustainably.

With saving the planet being one of the four main reasons to ditch meat, we suspect a large wave of Aussies will jump on the band wagon this week. To help eco- friendly, health- conscious and animal loving diners seamlessly take part in World Meat Free Week, OpenTable has provided five top tips on how to absolutely conquer this new lifestyle (please see below).

We can also do a roundup of the best vegetarian and vegan haunts in Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast to run online either this week or this weekend.
