Eaton Hotel Hong Kong Wins Earthcheck Best Educational Presentation Award
Eaton Hotel Hong Kong has been awarded winner of Best Educational Presentation under the Communicating Sustainable Practices Competition run by EarthCheck.
The EarthCheck Program is used by more travel and tourism organisations than any other around the world. It validates the carbon claims of the largest accommodation providers on the planet and guides them in their sustainability initiatives.
The winning entries and a selection of highly commended items have been loaded to the EarthCheck website (www.earthcheck.org/news/Default.aspx?NewsID=71) so that others can learn from examples of best practice.
“It’s great to see that Eaton Hotel Hong Kong is integrating sustainability into staff training during induction and reinforcing it as a daily practice,” commented Stewart Moore, CEO of EarthCheck. “All too often sustainability is overlooked and the opportunity to imbed it into corporate culture, policies and practices is lost; as are the sizeable benefits that can be gained. Congratulations to the Green Team at Eaton for getting the mix right!”
The recent award recognises Eaton Hotel Hong Kong’s commitment to showcase how organisations can leverage EarthCheck’s quantifiable science based technology on its daily operations to increase operational efficiencies, maximise guest experience, minimise environmental impacts and improve bottom line performance.
“The award is recognition of the Hotel’s commitment in educating our community, our staff and guests about the benefits of sustainability. It is certainly my pleasure to be part of the team who has made this possible and I look forward to further enhancing our ongoing initiatives to ensure continual improvement.” said John Dick, the Hotel’s VP – Eaton Hotels/ Managing Director.
