Corinthia Hotels announced the appointment of Thomas M. Fischer as General Manager of its award-winning Corinthia Hotel Budapest in Hungary, a leading member of the Corinthia Hotels collection.
Prior to joining Corinthia Hotels, Mr. Fischer had a successful international career with the Kempinski Group, where he held executive positions in China, Germany, and Russia. He also gained experience in various senior executive positions at other international hotels in the Germany, London, and the Middle East. His most recent appointment prior to joining Corinthia Hotels was that of General Manager at the five-star Kempinski Hotel Gravenbruch in Frankfurt, Germany.
“I feel privileged to be entrusted with the management of one of the finest award-winning hotels in Europe. Together with my team, I will continue to proudly uphold its fine tradition as Hungary’s leading hotel ever since its original opening in 1896 as the Grand Hotel Royal and, more recently, as the completely restored and renovated Corinthia Hotel Budapest,” said Mr. Fischer on his appointment.
The Corinthia Hotel Budapest is an award-winning member of the Corinthia Hotels brand. The hotel originally opened as the Grand Hotel Royale in 1896 and was entirely renovated and, in parts, rebuilt in 2003, following its acquisition by Corinthia Hotels. Among its many attributes, the hotel features a majestic grand ballroom and the “Royal Spa” – itself an extensive renovation of an original 19th century spa adjoining the original hotel that has once again regained its rightful place as Budapest’s most luxurious spa.
