PMA Communications Group Appoints Jo Tuamoto To Key South Pacific Role

PMA Communications Group Managing Director, Paul McCarthy has announced the appointment of former Tourism Fiji CEO, Jo Tuamoto to the role of General Manager – South Pacific.

Mr Tuamoto needs no introduction given the very high profile he holds on the international tourism stage in his former capacity handling both the CEO and International Director of marketing portfolios for Tourism Fiji before

his departure last November.

His overseas experience with Tourism Fiji also included stints as Regional Director Australia and the US prior to his appointment as CEO in 2008,

While with the organisation, Mr Tuamoto was the catalyst and took management responsibility for the international repositioning of the national tourist office under the highly successful and high profile ‘Fiji Me’ branding.

Mr Tuamoto’s commercial experience includes a Director of Commercial Operations role with the iconic Fiji-based Blue Lagoon Cruises.

A graduate with BSc and GCEd honours from the University of the South Pacific, Mr Tuamoto holds an MBA from the University of Wales and has also completed management studies at Harvard Business School, Wharton Business School and the University of Hawaii.

Welcoming Mr Tuamoto to the ranks Mr McCarthy said the appointment represented a major coup for the company and would play a major role in PMACG extending its already lengthy reach into the South Pacific region.

“There can be no doubt Jo’s calm leadership and expertise will play a critical role in helping steer the company’s business aspirations in the region - by application he is very capable of delivering the goods.” he said.

“Jo has already taken a lead role in our activity both in Fiji and also Papua New Guinea where we have been proactive on several government issues in the last two years.

“We are delighted to have him on board.”
