Lufthansa and payments card company MasterCard have generated US$25,000 from a joint online sales campaign for HelpAlliance, an independent aid organization founded by Lufthansa employees to support humanitarian projects around the world.

Lufthansa customers in Asia, The Middle East and Africa saved US$60 off the best available rate on Lufthansa flight tickets purchased on Lufthansa.com from 1 November 2011 until 31 January 2012. Beyond that, by buying Lufthansa flight tickets, customers were helping people in need: US$25 per transaction off the first 1000 tickets sold were contributed to HelpAlliance by MasterCard. The donation of US$25,000 from this cooperation goes to charitable projects in the Asian region. Since founding the association, Lufthansa employees have supported numerous projects around the world, among others child relief projects like “Prospects for Street Kids and Orphans” to provide children a home and access to education.
