Travel Counsellors is celebrating after receiving national recognition by customers in its Netherlands operation, picking up three awards at the country’s national travel awards.
The company, which launched its Netherlands operation in 2005 and now has 110 Travel Counsellors running their own businesses from home across the country, were first time attendants at the Zoover awards but stole the show after receiving the titles of ‘Best Travel Agency Group’ and ‘Most Popular Travel Agency’.
The company then went on to pick up the overall award for the highest customer service score from the general public of all 40 winners including a raft of tour operators, suppliers and airlines.
Company Chairman David Speakman comments; “We are thrilled and very proud of our operation in the Netherlands for working so hard to achieve this fantastic accolade. There is no greater recognition than that of your customers and to be recognised as the best overall travel company highlights our agents’ dedication and commitment to always providing the very highest levels of customer service. As a company we are going from strength to strength and this highlights our growing international presence and success, which ultimately benefits our individual Travel Counsellors who are able to share local knowledge with one another across the globe and benefit from our global buying power. However although the company may have expanded, at our heart we are still a family business and our ethos of friendship, camaraderie, caring and support remains at the very centre of our organisation.”
The company’s unique business model of providing unrivalled support to its agents in all areas of their business which allows them to focus on building personal relationships with their customers has been extremely well received in the Netherlands. As a result Travel Counsellors is now the largest firm of independent travel consultants in the country.
Netherlands General Manager Fred van Eijk comments; “These awards are recognition from our customers for the personal service, flexibility and professionalism we provide to them. I am extremely proud to be part of such a special company and am extremely positive about the future as we continue to expand and grow our family of agents across the Netherlands.”
This latest recognition follows the independent travel company’s recent expansion into the UAE, which has already seen an influx of interest from those interested in running their own businesses as part of the company. Travel Counsellors also has one of the highest scores in the world for customer loyalty*, with over 1,200 agents operating across a further six countries, including Australia. Travel Counsellors international growth was also recently recognised when the company was listed in the 2011 Sunday Times International Fast Track for international growth and the Telegraph’s 1000 Britain’s Brightest Businesses.
