Expedia TAAP Shifts From Europe To USA.

Expedia TAAP has seen a dramatic shift in bookings from Europe to the USA over the past 2 weeks. Overall numbers are continuing to grow by about 150% over last year and up until now Europe has been the prime destination for the program.

Last week however saw a major shift in bookings from Europe to the USA. Europe destination figures moved from 48% to 38% of the program with an uplift in figures to the USA from 23% to 31%. Oceania and APAC are holding steady at about 15% of bookings with Latin America and Africa making up the rest.

Expedia claims TAAP averages about 150 unique destinations each week all over the world. Some out of the way destinations last week included, Jackson Hole Wyoming, Jura Switzerland, Halong in Vietnam, Waikato New Zealand and Alice Springs. The top 10 destinations last week were, Paris, New York, Oahu, Los Angeles, Sydney, Singapore, London, Bangkok, Melbourne and Athens.

“We’re always running some sort of special” says Stu Udy who runs the TAAP in APAC. “We have great Ski deals in New Zealand and we launched a promotion on Vegas last weekend. There are over 3,600 Hotel deals on the site right now, all of which offer Agents great commission.”
