Train Chartering has operated an heritage First Class charter train with Pullman catering from to London for journalists on behalf of a leading media agency after a product launch.

The Royal Scot from Train Chartering

The Royal Scot is a train based on carriages built in the 1960s, and since refurbished. The First Class carriages have armchair-style seats, all of which have a full-size table and fresh linen headrest covers. There is no airline-style seating. Pullman catering is prepared in a fully-equipped kitchen car by professional chefs and is served at seat by uniformed white-gloved stewards.

The classic looks of The Royal Scot has a striking appeal for many, even for journalists more used to reporting on other forms of travel. The visual external impact of the private train was further enhanced by its interior, with tables laid up for dining, with menus and flowers.

The diners were served Dublin Bay prawns, Beef Wellington and Lemon Tart, accompanied by Imperial Gran Reserva, a fine vintage Rioja.

Simon Pielow of Train Chartering says, “Chef-prepared fine dining with an excellent wine served by uniformed stewards in an heritage Pullman train as the finale of a PR event has created a lasting memory for the media guests.”

Train Chartering has provided charter trains, private carriages / rail cars and special rail travel since 1998 to corporate and individual clients as well as group travel organisers.
