Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL) has launched a new digital campaign, ‘Win Your Sunshine Coast Holiday Package.’ The campaign to run throughout July utilises electronic direct mail, Google and Facebook.
There was more than 11 milllion Facebook users in Australia last month, and over 901 million active monthly users worldwide.
CEO of SCDL, Steve Cooper said, “With these critical statistics in mind, our marketing team is moving to increase our digital presence to drive more visitors to the region. The Facebook campaign has a competition based on ‘designing your own ideal Sunshine Coast holiday’. Visitors will be asked to select from a list of regions, accommodation and activities to design their ideal holiday which they can then enter to go into the draw to win their holiday.
“The campaign also has a microsite that profiles operator businesses; raise awareness of the region as a holiday option during the winter months; and educates potential visitors about the quality and range of holiday experiences available on the Sunshine Coast.
“Having useful tools and information at people’s fingertips is enormously appealing and becoming essential with today’s travellers who research destinations, plan, book flights, accommodation, cars and tours online. Convenience is the fundamental component driving the success of all technology.
“As part of SCDL’s commitment to digital improvements, our team has developed a sound social media strategy and also has established a quick response code, most commonly known as a QR code which looks a bit like a bar code. A barcode reader is now in most people’s pocket with the dissemination of smartphones, and this provides quick and effortless access to SCDL’s website.”
