Holiday Inn is offering travellers the once-in-a-lifetime chance to win a week-long vacation with their family at any Holiday Inn in the world.

The global brand invites guests from South East Asia to recreate and share their most memorable moments through a “Then and Now” photo comparison on Holiday Inn’s Facebook page.   “Then and Now” is based on a popular internet meme where old photographs are recreated in present day, capturing every detail as precisely as possible.

To participate, fans need to visit the Holiday Inn Facebook page (www.facebook.com/HolidayInnHotels) between 1 September and 31 October 2012, and click on the “Celebrate Firsts” app.  They will then be required to upload two photos – one from the past that displays a memorable first event in their life, such as a first family vacation, first car, or first day of school; and one from the present day that recreates the past image as accurately as possible.

The contest is open to residents of Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, and participants may upload one submission per day during the contest period.

The Grand Prize is a week-long family vacation for four at a Holiday Inn hotel of their choice, anywhere in the world.  This includes round trip economy-class air tickets for four (4) from a major airport near the winner’s home; six nights’ accommodations (two rooms, double occupancy); and US$2,000 spending money.  With 1,234 Holiday Inn hotels and resorts around the world, the winners will be spoilt for choice when choosing a destination for their dream family vacation!

Some popular destinations in the region include the Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma in the Maldives, Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu near Fiji, Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali and the Holiday Inn Suites Alpensia Pyeongchang in South Korea.

This contest celebrates Holiday Inn’s 60th Anniversary, and the brand’s evolution from its beginnings to today’s modern day offering.

The prize stays true to the vision of its founder Kemmons Wilson, a family man who built his hotel chain on the premise that it would be family-friendly.   Holiday Inn was the first international brand hotel to introduce family-friendly services.  A slew of features, such as its Kids Stay and Eat Free programme, Kids Club and Family Suites & KidsSuites® raised the benchmark for family vacations.
