HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings Welcomes Fresh Batch of Students from Maastricht Hotel Management School

HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings rolled out the red carpet for new batch of students who arrived for training from Maastricht Hotel Management School in The Netherlands recently.

While five of the students are in their final year of graduation, one is in the second year. At HMH they will undergo comprehensive training in their chosen disciplines ranging from operations to accounts, marketing, house-keeping, front office and food and beverage departments. Three of the trainees are based at HMH headquarters and the other three have been placed at Corp Executive Hotel Apartments, Al Barsha, Dubai.

Welcoming the students, Michel Noblet, President & CEO, HMH, said, “Maastricht Hotel Management School is one of the most prestigious hospitality institutes and we are truly pleased to accommodate this new group of students at our organization. We have been accepting students from the university for the last three years and will continue to do so. Training is one of the biggest challenges facing our industry today and at HMH we are eager to support any opportunity to develop a skilled and professional workforce. At the heart of it all is our commitment to serving customers better.”

Yvonne Munnichs, Internship Manager, Maastricht Hotel Management School, commented, “We are happy to partner with HMH to develop together the talent of the future for the international hospitality industry with a special focus on the Middle East region.

In keeping with the Maastricht Hotel Management School curriculum, HMH has outlined a very detailed programme for the students who will undergo a five-month intensive training. Michel said, “We do not see these students as inexperienced, undisciplined newcomers. Rather they are high-performing workers who have exhibited remarkable dedication and keen attitude to learning. We hope that they will benefit from this opportunity at our organization and find it productive.”

Tim, who has joined the accounts department at HMH corporate office in Dubai, said, “We have got integrated very quickly and I am extremely grateful to HMH for offering us this excellent platform for learning which is different from what we learn in the classroom. There are a lot of new things to see in Dubai, especially in our industry.”

Dominique who is assisting the operations team is equally delighted and commented, “The entire team at HMH has been very helpful. It feels like a family. I love Dubai so far and found it to be a lot better than what I had anticipated. I just love my job.”

Vivian is undergoing training in marketing at MPJ – Marketing Pro-Junction, the marketing & PR agency for HMH. She said, “The welcome we received was truly special. There is so much to learn at MPJ that’s way different from theory. I feel at home inDubai and find going out and meeting other people the most interesting part of my training.”

Amy is based at Corp Executive Hotel Apartments in Al Barsha. She said, ”Dubai is a city which is young, energetic and full of ambitious people. Corp is a good representative of Dubai. With a young and energetic team I felt at home immediately and Corp helps me to achieve ambitious goals during my internship.”

Bibi, another intern at Corp Executive Hotel Apartments in Al Barsha, said: ”Dubai is a vibrant, dynamic and fast growing city, which provides a lot of opportunities related to the tourism Industry. The relatively young and very ambitious team of Corp made me feel welcome from the day I entered this amazing city. I definitely have the feeling that this is the right place for an interesting internship.”

Michel’s message to the students is plain and simple. He stressed, “There is always an extra mile everywhere and always a hidden treasure. If you go the extra mile, you are bound to succeed. I want you all to find that treasure for yourself. Remember everybody is his own chief operating officer. Maximize your skills as much as possible.”
