TripAdvisor(r), the world’s largest travel site*, today announced that it is launching a series of Master Class events to help Asia-Pacific hotel businesses thrive online with TripAdvisor’s marketing resources and tools.

These events cover a range of online marketing best practices, as well as offer opportunities for Q&A and live site demonstrations with TripAdvisor staff and other industry experts. The events will also provide proven methods for encouraging more direct bookings.

Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, India and China will all be key markets for the launch of TripAdvisor’s Master Class series.

At each event, TripAdvisor will showcase the benefits of the Company’s free and paid resources for hotel owners and managers, including the following:

*         TripAdvisor Management Centre – Available for free to business representatives who register their properties on TripAdvisor, this resource platform serves as an educational hub with free access to videos, how-to guides and tips, providing owners with crucial strategies for engaging with travelers on TripAdvisor. The Management Centre also offers tools for promoting properties and managing their reputations online.

*         TripAdvisor Business Listings – For property owners and managers wishing to upgrade their hotel page on TripAdvisor, Business Listings is a subscription product that enables individual hotels to increase their property’s exposure in front of TripAdvisor’s more than 50 million unique monthly visitors* by adding their direct contact information-such as a website link, email address and phone number-to their property pages on the site. The product also allows subscribers to add special offers on high-visibility pages.

Upcoming Master Classes:

*       Sydney, Sofitel Wentworth – Tuesday 21 February, 2012
*       Melbourne, The Langham – Thursday 23 February, 2012
*       New Delhi, India – Tuesday 10 April, 2012
*       Mumbai, India – Thursday 12 April, 2012

“It’s an exciting time for Asia-Pacific hotel owners and managers who understand the importance of capturing the attention of travelers online,” said Christine Petersen, president of TripAdvisor for Business.

“Through our Master Class event series, we aim to help hotels thrive on our site.  More than 30,000 properties in the Asia Pacific region have already registered for free to begin taking advantage of the resources and tools we make available to businesses. This is a significant increase in the past year.”

“Our efforts over the next several months will focus on helping other hotel owners and managers realize the benefits of TripAdvisor and encourage more direct bookings through TripAdvisor Business Listings,” continued Petersen.
