Small development company Pinkfroot have achieved a significant technology breakthrough that enables so many aircraft to be plotted dynamically on a single web page.
The website plots in excess of 5,000 planes at a single time in the US skies alone! This new data is plotted alongside existing data from their own global live virtual radar receiver network.
Operations Director Mark Daniels says, “we’re excited to include the commercial scheduled flight data from North America as it has enabled us to significantly improve our global coverage overnight. We will also continue to expand our own, more accurate, virtual radar receiver network alongside this as we understand that the extra few metres/feet accuracy make all the difference to our customers!”
All commercial scheduled flights for North America are plotted on a Google map and currently available in the free Plane Finder web app at http://www.planefinder.net
Plane Finder is also available for iPhone, iPod and iPad in the Apple App Store, and for mobile devices in the Android Marketplace and Windows Phone Marketplace.
Pinkfroot Limited have been offering top ranking Plane and Ship tracking apps since 2009. The company consists of 3 enthusiasts with a passion for technology, aircraft and boats. The company was catapulted into the headlines in 2010 when their Plane Finder Augmented Reality App (Plane Finder AR) was released sparking a debate on its potentially radical uses.
