2018 Travel Industry Exhibition, 21-22 August, Dockside, Darling Harbour

Exhibitor space at the 2018 Travel Industry Exhibition, on from 21-22 August at Sydney’s Darling Harbour, has sold out.

Event Director David Paterson, of organiser Exhibitions & Trade Fairs, said, “This will be the biggest floor-show offering for visitors, with exhibitors specialising in products across the board for the Mobile, MICE and the Luxury sectors, which have each shown strong, recent growth.

“This year we also have a larger floor space, so with this broadest range ever, the floor is representing what the MICE and Luxury sectors are looking for. We’re delighted to have an offering that faithfully matches that need.”

Mr Paterson said many exhibitors were well known, such as Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours, AYANA Resort & Spa and CINZ (Conventions & Incentives New Zealand); while some were new to the market, including Timor Leste Tourism, Submarine Downunder and Shandong Tourism.

“Both well know and new entrants will be exhibiting offerings that are fresh, innovative and aligning early with trends.”

New to market

“Timor Leste Tourism offers the opportunity to visit an unspoiled gem. This is a beautiful new tourism travel destination to our north that offers a unique cultural experience, rich history and natural beauty in beaches, tropical reefs and rugged mountains.

“Submarine Downunder offers the first-of-a-kind-underwater tours. Run off the shores of the Sunshine Coast, this top-level tourist attraction lets passengers ‘experience Australia from a different perspective’, giving a unique view of the endangered underwater world that would only otherwise be accessible through scuba diving.

“Then we have Shandong Tourism from China, which is trying to break through into the market as an alternative to Beijing and Shanghai with which many people are already familiar. Situated in East China, Shandong is a coastal province that forms nearly 20% of China’s total coastline. It’s also the birthplace of Confucius, and has numerous historic and sacred sites, as well as distinguished beer factories and wineries.”

Innovation from well-known names

Mr Paterson said while AYANA Resort & Spa’s existing world-class resort on 90 hectares of cliff-top land perched above Jimbaran Bay was well known, in September it was launching a brand-new resort: the first and only five-star resort at Labuan Bajo.

“Already famed in Bali and Jakarta for world-class hospitality, exceptional hotel design and unparalleled service standards, AYANA Komodo Resort, on white-sand Waecicu Beach, will have 205 guest rooms featuring superb sunset views overlooking Kukusan Island.”

He said in the MICE sector, CINZ’s role is to increase New Zealand activity, including from Australia.

“New Zealand is a dream destination for business travel and pleasure. It has thrilling adventures, cultural experiences, complete relaxation and luxurious rewards.

“We also have well-known Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours. This eminent established brand is well known and trusted.

“From its humble beginnings to now world-renowned luxury cruise and tour operator, two years ago Scenic celebrated 30 years as a leader in its field. Its world-class reputation for creating and delivering the ultimate cruising and touring itineraries for travellers who seek wondrous experiences and exceptional five-star service is well deserved.

Program

Mr Paterson said the concurrent seminar program was also about to be released.

“The sessions will explore many topics, including the importance of food, trends in accommodation and how to use networking properly, while a special panel discussion will delve into ethical and responsible tourism.”
