The APT Travel Group (ATG) has capped off a multi-award winning 2019 by securing two more major national awards, this time for the APT and the Travelmarvel brands, giving ATG a clean sweep of the Cruise Critic Editors’ Picks Awards, announced on Wednesday.

Selected by Cruise Critic’s international team of editors, who based their decision on the lines and ships they feel best represent excellence in each of the designated categories,   APT took out the Editor’s Pick award from Cruise Critic for Best River Cruise Line. Cruise Critic said “(APT) is one of the country’s most respected travel companies and delivers the highest quality holidays for Australians. From the food, service, seamless itineraries and comfortable accommodation, this popular river cruise line sets the bar high. Forget about tipping and paying extra for drinks or transfers to the ship, APT fares are all-inclusive.”

Travelmarvel, won the other Editors’ Pick award taking out the Best Value River Cruise category. Known for its outstanding value-for-money holidays, Travelmavel’s recognition is the latest accolade in a year when ATG has received multiple industry nods.

The industry continued to applaud the APT Travel Group with the month of November seeing APT pick up the following accolades:

  • Travellers Choice awarded APT the hotly contested title of Supplier of the Year for the second year and especially notable as it is voted by Travellers Choice agencies and recognises outstanding service provided to them
  • Cruise Passenger Readers’ Choice Awards saw APT receive the Best River Cruise Line award, as voted by its readers
  • The Telegraph Travel UK awarded APT Best Escorted Tour Operator

Earlier in the year, APT won the coveted Best River Cruise Operator for the fifth year in succession and Best Domestic Tour Operator for the eighth time at the 2019 National Travel Industry Awards (NTIA), awarded by the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) judging panel.

These were complemented by ATG recently receiving recognition for their newly launched OneTomorrow Charitable Fund at the 2019 Workplace Giving Awards, where the initiative was awarded third place.

ATG Chief Commercial Officer, Debra Fox, said the Cruise Critic awards are yet another outstanding achievement for the business, in a year of great external recognition.

“We are honoured to receive all of these awards, and these acknowledgements prove yet again that when people choose to travel with ATG, they’re travelling with the best.”

APT Travel Group Managing Director Chris Hall added they were delighted to again be recognised by the people, industry and peers throughout the year.

“We strive to deliver the best possible luxury product to agents and guests, focusing on customer service and innovation to create unforgettable memories for travellers.”
