One Ocean Expeditions (OOE) is delighted to announce their roster of itineraries for 2020 covering Arctic Canada, Svalbard, Greenland, Scotland, Iceland, East Coast Canada, Costa Rica and Panama. Highly regarded in the field of expedition travel, OOE firmly believes that in developing a program that stays true to their reputation for innovation, this will be their best program yet.

Voyages include favourites such as Fins & Fiddles (a Canadian Signature Experience), Canada’s East Coast Golf Expedition and Classic Northwest Passage & Greenland, all operated on RCGS Resolute, as well as Baffin Island – Jewel of the High Arctic (extended Greenland voyage), High Arctic Explorer and Pathways to Franklin taking place on the Akademik Ioffe. Akademik Sergey Vavilov will be returning to Svalbard where she will travel on three Spitsbergen Encounter voyages, one of which will be a photography symposium led by award-winning nature photographer Daisy Gilardini.

Following the inaugural voyages to Costa Rica and the Panama Canal; Scotland, Ireland, Faroe Islands and Iceland, OOE is delighted to see these popular itineraries return for summer 2020.

Commencing in 2020 will be an exciting array of new voyages. A classic expedition linking three countries with a rich history, breathtaking scenery and fascinating communities, Path of the Vikings: Iceland, Greenland & Canada follows in the footsteps of early Vikings across the Atlantic on their quest of discovery 1000 years ago. On the Journey into the North: Labrador, Torngats & Greenlanditinerary passengers will travel from the temperate climate of Canada’s Maritimes northwards into higher latitudes. Sailing the southwest coast of Greenland, guests will explore a maze of iceberg filled fjords and colourful fishing villages on the Viking Explorer: Greenland & Eastern Canada voyage, crossing the Davis Strait to Newfoundland, where history and legendary hospitality awaits.

Adding to the lineup are two fantastic EPIC voyages, including the company’s first ever trans-Atlantic crossing. Combining two incredible voyages – Scotland, Faroes & Iceland: Footsteps of Vikings and Gaels and the new Path of the Vikings: Iceland, Greenland & Canada to create one true Viking saga is A Journey to New Worlds – A Trans-Atlantic EPIC from Edinburgh, Scotland to Sydney, Nova Scotia. On the Across the Arctic – EPIC, OOE has combined the Classic Northwest Passage & Greenland with the new Viking Explorer, giving an amazing 23-night Epic voyage across the Arctic. Guests will follow in the footsteps of the early Arctic explorers exploring the archipelago of islands and channels that create Canada’s High Arctic region as they travel through the remote Northwest Passage before discovering the ice and fjords of Greenland and the rich history of Canada’s East Coast.

The dedication, enthusiasm and expertise of OOE’s onboard team continues to impress and lift voyages to beyond exceptional. For 2020, OOE has hand-selected internationally renowned special guests and team members including wildlife artist and field naturalist Bruce Pearson, world-renowned artist David McEown, polar conservationist Denise Landau, Viking expert Karin Murray-Bergquist, Inuit culture guide Alex Anaviapik, Arctic cultural expert Dianne Chisholm, and Martyn Obbard, polar bear expert and guide.

Furthering opportunities for science, history and the arts, guests can choose to travel on specialist voyages alongside OOE partners in their mission to discover the undiscovered. Ocean Wise and their cold-water dive team will continue to conduct ground-breaking research onboard in the Arctic this summer. The Royal Canadian Geographical Society will join guests on worldwide expedition cruises throughout the year, elevating the resources and knowledge available to educate youth across Canada and the world.

The culinary focus on all vessels will also rise to new heights this season with the introduction of an enhanced culinary program, pairing unique, local and seasonal dishes with featured beverages native to the regions visited. OOE’s commitment to procuring sustainable products continues whilst, at the same time, a variety of world-class options for every palate helps shape the menu for each voyage. With the OOE signature dish series, guests will discover culinary delights that will fuel their energy for the next day of adventure.
