Victory Cruise Lines has launched its 2022 Alaska program featuring its brand new exploration ship, Ocean Victory, which will offer deep-nature, all-inclusive expedition voyages aboard a revolutionary vessel designed for responsible travel.
To mark the launch of the 2022 season, Australian small ship specialist, Cruise Traveller, which represents Victory Cruise Lines in Australia, is offering savings of up to US$2000 per couple for bookings made by March 31, 2021.
Part of Victory Cruises’ new expansion beyond its popular Great Lakes cruises, the line’s 2022 season will feature 14 one-way voyages lasting from 10-12 nights between Vancouver in Canada and Sitka in Alaska between May and September, 2022.
Each voyage will showcase Alaska’s stunning, cliff-lined fjords, thundering waterfalls, mighty glaciers soaring peaks, dense fir forests and wildlife such as humpback whales, orcas, dolphins, bear, deer, moose, mink, otters and sea lions.
Built expressly for low imprint, high-comfort exploration in remote areas and sporting an innovative design and swept-back X-bow that promises a smoother ride, the deluxe, eco-friendly Ocean Victory will take just 200 like-minded explorers to more rugged and less visited reaches of Alaska, with closer encounters with the State’s wild scenery, animals and local indigenous people.
Only 104m long, weighing just 8500 tonnes and with a shallow draft of 5.1m, Ocean Victory will take guests to a range of more distant destinations in Alaska and British Columbia including Kake, Petersburg, Wrangell, Metlakatla, Misty Fjords, Frederick Sound and Tracy and Endicott Arms.
Powered by electro and diesel engines, the hi-tech, clean-fuel Ocean Victory will boast a spectacular, aft-facing infinity pool, jacuzzi, two restaurants serving regionally inspired cuisine, panoramic observation lounge overlooking the bow, library, fitness centre and spa, piano bar and 93 staterooms – all with ocean views and 79 per cent with private balconies. Ocean Victory will also carry 20 Zodiac craft, a fleet of kayaks and a team of naturalists, marine biologists, scientists and historians. Another ship, twin sister Ocean Discoverer, is set to join Ocean Victory in Alaska in 2023.
Fares for a 10-night Alaskan cruise in 2022 are available from US$4516 per person, twin-share, for a stateroom with a French balcony (Sept 19, 2022 departure) – a saving of US$300 per person – while a stateroom with a full balcony is available from US$5516 per person, twin-share – a saving of US$1000 per person. The savings are available for bookings made by March 31, 2021.
Fares include one night pre-cruise hotel stay, all onboard meals, onboard beverages, comprehensive shore excursions, port charges and ships gratuities.
