There is no doubt that Australia has some great locations to hold a party or a fundraiser.

In any year, the number of corporate events held in different locations is what gives us notoriety as being well known for many places such as the Sydney Opera House to our world-renowned race at Flemington racecourse each year.

Yet, if you want a sense of uniqueness for your next business event, what are some of Australia’s lesser-used spaces?

Well, let me guide you to those gems, to which, you may not have given a thought and yet they may have been hiding in plain sight. Let’s get to know some of them.

1. The Forum Theatre in Melbourne:

This beautiful theatre, located on the corner of Russell and Flinders Street, is a perfect location for any corporate soiree.

Its art and event area can host many significant sized cocktail parties, making it an ideal space for event catering, mingling, and more.

Undergoing a grand restoration over the past year, and having the capacity to fit up to 1500 for cocktail events and 520 for dinner, this can make you the star of any show.

2. The National Gallery of Victoria:

If you’re looking to add some artistic flair to your next gala, then how about that of Australia’s most visited and oldest art gallery?

Known to many Melburnians purely as NGV, the National Gallery has over 150 years as part of Victoria’s and Australia’s cultural history and landscape.

3. Yarra Valley Wine Region:

Being only an hour’s drive from the CBD, with its multitude of wineries that offer delectable cool-climate wines, the Yarra Valley Wine Region can be just the place to host your next corporate event. Not to mention the novelty of getting out of the city.

Destinations like Rochford Estate and Yering Station offer a perfect backdrop for some delicious wine tasting, allowing everyone to be a little merry and taste a beautiful drop.

4. Uluru and Kata Tjuta:

When thinking of a destination that is unique and purely Australian, you can’t go much further than our extensive ‘red centre’ that is the “outback.”

Of course, what comes to many people’s minds is that of the sacred Aboriginal site that is Uluru.

It and the Kata Tjuta rock formations, located in their namesake national park, can be a great corporate event location, particularly if you want to familiarise your clients or co-workers with and increase their knowledge of an ancient culture and Australian history.

5. Evoke the team’s inner detectives:

If you happen to be in Adelaide, why not take a walk on the wild side and build the team by undertaking some detective work?

Adelaide Zoo has an excellent opportunity for your team to have a day where their interaction with fellow members, and maybe even clients, can be a fun half-day out.

Through their Adelaide scavenger hunt, you can send your team or clients into groups, which work for various fitness levels, to see who works best together through the zoo grounds and working with complex clues.

Also, there is the promise of drinks at the watering hole after its conclusion.

6. Set Sail on Darling Harbour:

If you’re north of Victoria, and in the Harbour city, why not use that to your advantage when impressing clients or create a day with your team and see them enjoy a day on the water.

From boats that will carry anywhere from 80 to 950 passengers in pure luxury, you have your charter set for a lovely sail around what is possibly our most famous harbour.

7. Taronga Centre in Sydney:

This fantastic function centre is intertwined with Taronga Zoo and offers a range of activities for both team-building events and those corporate events for which to host clients.

It can include Sky Safari cable car tour that overlooks the grounds, while space offers several areas for conferences and team discussions.

Now, when it comes to your next corporate event location, from Melbourne to the heart of Australia, you have a great selection to choose from.
