Fiona Barratt Interiors Christmas Tree In what has now become an annual tradition, The Upper House is thrilled to reveal it’s 2019 Christmas tree collaboration with Fiona Barratt Interiors. The tree was unveiled on 27 November at the renowned Up Close speaker series, with Fiona Barratt-Campbell, one of Britain’s leading figures in the international interior design world.

“I wanted to create a tree that was simplistic in design, yet luxurious in materiality. I believe the materials of a piece should evoke the senses and I was inspired to reverse the normal theory of lighting a tree from the outside, to instead light it from the inside.”

The tree stands at 3.4m high and 1.8 in diameter in the shape of a cone with three openings to allow the light to penetrate out. These curved sections are finished in a beautiful textured wood veneer with a white lime wash that resembles snowfall. The base and the internal sections are finished in satin antique brass with LEDs lining the edges of the opening from top to bottom. The main feature of the tree is the rock crystal light, representing the star, and is connected to the long drop crystal pendent within the centre of the tree.

The beautifully illuminated tree will be on display at The Upper House entrance until January 2020. In the spirit of giving, the one-of-a-kind tree is being auctioned to raise money for a Hong Kong charity. Interested parties can put forward their bids to marcel@upperhouse.com
