Industry leader Trafalgar is proud to announce the location of its 2020 Acclaim rewards trip, this time with a meaningful difference that will appeal to Agents all around the world. Supporting the brand’s deep-seated and ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in the places they visit, 2020’s Acclaim itinerary will focus on experiencing the brand’s JoinTrafalgar initiatives in the magical Emerald Isle.

Responsible travel is not a passing fad, it’s essential. Both as travel companies and travellers, we have a responsibility to ensure that the places we love, and the cultures we experience are available for future generations to enjoy too” Trafalgar CEO Gavin Tollman announced today. “It’s with this in mind that we’re thrilled to announce Ireland as the location of our 2020 Acclaim trip, giving our valued agent partners the opportunity to experience first hand the impact that their sales of Trafalgar make to our JoinTrafalgar responsible travel pillars of people, places & wildlife and the planet in just one of the countries we visit”  he said.

With increasing spotlight on brands to walk the talk and research to support increasing customer demand for brands that are truly making a difference, Trafalgar knew that a JoinTrafalgar trip in Ireland was a no-brainer. To add to this, with the Irish being known for their warm welcomes, “craic” (Irish for fun and laughs), wild landscapes and awe-inspiring sights, the trip across this diverse country will once again reward winners with Trafalgar’s incredible travel experiences. As Trafalgar’s most “rewarding” rewards trip yet, Agents will receive both the VIP treatment and have the ability to share how the brand makes travel matter with their clients back home.

The Irish are some of the most warm-hearted, entertaining and passionate people in the world, who love showcasing their corner of the world to guests. Meeting the people and families whose lives are changed through every single booking, seeing the restoration work support for heritage sights, places of historical significance and small businesses that are positively impacted through our visits is truly humbling, and we know our Agent partners will go home with plenty of stories to tell.” states Tollman. “Travellers today are telling us they want to make a difference, and this trip will provide Agents with an insight into how we do it, and how they, and their clients can make travel matter in a way they can only get with us, many of which our guests tell us are the highlights of our itineraries.” he said.

The brand is announcing its Acclaim destination earlier than the previous year, offering hardworking Agents the opportunity to utilise this key selling period as each Trafalgar booking will bring Agents one step closer to securing their spot.

This isn’t the first time the brand has shown its support for Ireland, with Trafalgar recently holding its annual conference in Belfast, alongside other brands within the Travel Corporation Family, allowing the destination to be showcased on a global stage, supporting its efforts to double its tourism numbers by 2030. To add to this, the brand’s support for under-tourism destinations has been a key focus for the brand, recently adding multiple emerging destinations like Colombia, Armenia & Georgia to the Trafalgar line-up of award-winning itineraries. Furthermore, on World Tourism Day, 27 September 2019 the brand publicly released the Make Travel Matter Pledge, alongside other brands from The Travel Corporation Family, which was proudly signed by staff members around the world. Customers and travel industry partners are all invited to read, and if they wish to join and make the pledge online at www.treadright.org/pledge/. Agents can also learn even more about the importance of making a difference using the brands Agent Guide to Making A Difference which was released during Earth Month 2019, available here.

For more than a decade we’ve been supporting the places we visit, and we’re thrilled to be taking this to the next level for Agents in 2020. We’re looking forward to showcasing the magic of Ireland from the big sights to the people you wouldn’t otherwise meet to our valued top agents around the world. Travel is best measured in friends, rather than miles, after all!” concludes Tollman.
