Darling Harbour’s hidden gem, ABODE Bistro Bar, is sending off 2020 with the launch of a refreshed seasonal menu curated by Executive Chef, Josh Askew and Chef de Cuisine, Vico Betguen.

The award-winning restaurant is set in an invigorating multi-spaced interior featuring natural earthy tones, striking wallpaper from Australian interior designer, Catherine Martin and lattice works from Australian legend and style maven, Florence Broadhurst. The team pride themselves on exceptional service and knowledge, and are committed to taking care of the planet.

ABODE has focused on sustainability and conservation since its doors first opened in 2014, opting for suppliers who adhere to ethical farming, source produce locally, incorporate technics and materials to cut down on plastic waste and enforce responsible waste reduction processes – right down to ABODE’s recycled menus.

The new line-up of unique and contemporary dishes by Executive Chef, Josh Askew and Chef de Cuisine, Vico Betguen hero locally grown and sourced Australian produce. With the ethos, food is better when eating together, the menu iteration is designed to bring people together and promote conversation whether the preference is traditional dining or shared plates.

Popular dishes include saffron linguine and king prawns, spatchcock with goats cheese mousse, and a creamy risotto with fresh asparagus, kohlrabi, sweet pumpkin and pine nuts. Place trust in those at the kitchen’s helm and treat the palate to the Chef’s Selection, with five courses at $75 per person, or $85 per person with a bottle of selected wine.

Those craving a unique dining experience will be delighted by the news that a little piece of Melbourne has arrived at ABODE. The restaurant is teaming up with Mountain Goat Beer for its arrival into Sydney.

To celebrate opening up shop in the bustling Newtown neighbourhood, the brewer has joined forces with ABODE on an expertly-crafted, five-course degustation, perfectly paired with the Goat’s best ales. On the menu, enjoy Mountain Goat Hopped Gin cured king salmon, squid ink ravioli, hapuka with Goat Lager infused pea sauce and grain-fed striploin.

“There’s never been a more poignant time to support local farmers and businesses, and showcase the best ingredients that Australia has to offer – all from our own backyard. At ABODE we want diners to feel like our restaurant is their home away from home. We’re thrilled to be experimenting with new dishes and cooking techniques, as well as bringing a piece of the Melbourne foodie scene into the restaurant with our Mountain Goat Degustation offering.”

Whatever the season or occasion, ABODE is a dining sanctuary that will allow guests to relax and unwind in comfort, whilst indulging in fine food, boutique wine, craft beer and signature cocktails.
