Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, United States: Michael Abraham has earned PGA Master Professional status – the highest educational designation that can be obtained by a PGA of America Member.
The PGA Master Professional Programme (MPP 2.0) is available to any of the PGA of America’s nearly 29,000 PGA Professionals who have achieved advanced certification through the PGA Certified Professional Programme, which was launched in 2004.

The curriculum is comprised of an extensive project based on the specific certification previously acquired by the PGA Professional. Upon approval of the project and successful completion of a presentation, a PGA Member will earn the prestigious PGA Master Professional status.
To be eligible, the programme requires a minimum of eight years of PGA Membership. Since its inception, a total of 370 PGA Professionals have earned PGA Master Professional status.
Abraham, a PGA Member for 10 years, received his PGA Master Professional certification in Golf Operations. He has also previously achieved PGA Certified Professional Programme certification in both Instruction and Golf Operations.
Abraham has served as the PGA Head Golf Professional at Hidden Valley Country Club in Salem, Virginia since 2012. He previously served as PGA Head Golf Professional at Pine Lakes Country Club and as Assistant PGA Professional at The Members Club at Grande Dunes – both clubs are located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
In 2009, he was recognised as the Carolinas PGA Section Assistant Professional of the Year.
Several accomplished PGA Members served as mentors in guiding Abraham on his current path in golf operations, including Frank Coughlin, PGA General Manager at Arcadian Shores, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Rodney Loesch, PGA Head Professional at The Connecticut Golf Club in Easton, Connecticut; and Matt Borocz, PGA Assistant General Manager/Director of Golf at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
“Working in the golf industry requires long days and hours, working on holidays, and considerable time away from the family, but it is a passion for PGA Professionals,” said Abraham.
“This accomplishment means so much to me, because I’ve put my heart and soul into my profession and have always aspired to be the best PGA Member possible. I feel this recognition rewards the hard work and dedication I’ve given to the golf industry over many years. Yet, I feel that my work is not done, and just as my mentors helped me, I want to inspire other PGA Members and Associates to be the best they can be, so they can make a positive impact on those around them every day.”
Abraham is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University’s PGA Golf Management University programme, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Masters’ Degree in Business Administration.
The PGA Master Professional Programme (MPP 2.0) was established in 1969, to recognise PGA Members who have made a significant effort to improve as golf professionals and maintain the highest degree of excellence for themselves and their operations. As part of its Member education curriculum, the PGA MPP 2.0 programme was designed to ensure PGA Professionals are prepared to meet the growing demands of the marketplace.
