AccorHotels Present Their Largest Portfolio of Brands Ever at IMM 2019

AccorHotels present their largest portfolio of brands ever at IMM 2019, having enlarged their Pacific portfolio by a third, acquiring the Mantra Group of properties in 2018, expanding the network by 138 hotels and 20,000 guestrooms, with the addition of Art Series, Peppers, Mantra, and BreakFree branded properties across Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and Indonesia.

This strategic acquisition takes AccorHotels’ network tally to over 330 hotels and resorts across the Pacific region. These brands will be consolidated under our existing portfolio of brands which have such a strong resonance with the Australian public and maintaining this level of recognition while continuing to innovate is a key priority for us going into 2019.



THE FANTAUZZO TO OPEN AT HOWARD SMITH WHARVES, BRISBANE FROM MARCH 2019: Art Series Hotels’ eighth property at Howard Smith Wharves, Brisbane will be named after acclaimed Australian painter Vincent Fantauzzo and is scheduled to open in March 2019. Renowned for his portraits of notable people including Heath Ledger, Matt Moran, Brandon Walters and Julia Gillard, he has won the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, the Archibald Packing Room Prize, and the Archibald People’s Choice Award four times, including in 2012 for his portrait of now-wife, actress Asher Keddie. Carved into the cliff under Story Bridge, the $100 million luxury hotel will feature 166 guest rooms, with custom contemporary furnishings, featuring both original artworks and up to 500 reproductions of Fantauzzo’s most recognised works. FIJI’S NEWEST DESTINATION IS PULLMAN NADI BAY RESORT & SPA: Scheduled to open this April, Pullman Nadi Bay Resort & Spa is located on the beachfront of Wailoaloa, just a 10-minute drive from Port Denarau and the Nadi International Airport. With 611 square metres of meeting and event space, four private meetings spaces catering for up to 400 people theatre style and large outdoor event spaces, the resort is perfectly suited for conferences and incentives. MELBOURNE’S NEXT LUXURY HOTEL, SHADOW PLAY BY PEPPERS, TO OPEN IN APRIL 2019: Melbourne’s newest luxury hotel, Shadow Play by Peppers, is scheduled to open in April 2019 in the city’s vibrant Southbank arts and entertainment district. The development’s 469 apartments will feature an avant garde design, breaking tradition and routine hotel design with a cohesive collection of contrasts – light and dark, formal and informal, and seductive dark statement pieces contrasting with white stone and timber. INTRODUCING FV BY PEPPERS: Brisbane’s hottest new hotel, FV by Peppers officially opened its doors in March 2018. Inspired by New York’s flatiron building, with New York influences throughout, FV by Peppers’ three towers are called Flatiron, Valley House and No. 1. SOUTH WEST SYDNEY’S NEWEST FIVE-STAR HOTEL, THE WILLIAM INGLIS HOTEL, MGALLERY BY SOFITEL: Opening in January 2018, The William Inglis Hotel, MGallery By Sofitel is a $140 million project developed by William Inglis & Sons. Celebrating the history of Inglis and the thoroughbred industry, the hotel features a boutique equine theme throughout, with 144 deluxe accommodation rooms including 22 luxurious suites and one presidential suite. LAUNCESTON’S EXTRAORDINARY PEPPERS SILO HOTEL OPENS:Launceston’s iconic new hotel, Peppers Silo Hotel, has received great acclaim since opening its doors in June 2018. Originally erected in 1960, the Kings Wharf grain silos were left unused for decades until construction breathed new life into the structure, transforming the silo barrels into a state-of-the-art contemporary new hotel. MAJOR REJUVENATION UNDERWAY AT SOFITEL FIJI RESORT AND SPA: Situated on Denarau Island Fiji, Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa is in the midst of a multi-million dollar refurbishment project including expansion plans for the resort’s exclusive adults-only, Waitui Beach Club. TAYIM, HARBOUR ROCKS HOTEL SYDNEY, MGALLERY BY SOFITEL’S NEW RESTAURANT: Formerly known as Scarlett, Harbour Rocks Hotels Sydney’s restaurant has received a new name, Tayim, and dramatic redesign including an expansion of the former venue into a larger bar and dining area, with design and interiors by Sydney Architects, Welsh + Major. In keeping with the historical features of the heritage building built in 1887, the sandstone walls have been lovingly restored to create an inviting space with a relaxed atmosphere. NEW CONVENTION CENTRE AT NOVOTEL TWIN WATERS RESORT: Following its $100 million purchase of the Novotel Twin Waters Resort in September 2018, The Shakespeare property group has announced a new, purpose-built convention centre build at the resort. The $8 million Convention Centre will be the destination’s pre-eminent event venue when it opens in April 2019.
