More than 300 dogs and mogs will be looking for their new fur-milies at Australia’s biggest animal adoption event at the Brisbane Showgrounds tomorrow

Held by RSPCA Queensland, the Big Adopt Out will see some of the state’s best rescue groups and a huge variety of cats and dogs gather in The Marquee to help animals find their fur-ever homes.

Now in its seventh year, the event will attract more than 8,000 paw-tential pet owners, as well as vet advice, pet service and pet product stalls to get their new family member started on the right paw.

For those wanting to fetch a new furry friend this weekend, there will be animals of all ages, shapes and sizes up for adoption, as well as a team of experienced staff on hand to provide information on the different breeds and their needs.

Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said they were thrilled to be a part of the initiative to tackle cat and dog homelessness.

“We have a great relationship with the RSPCA and are looking forward to our venue playing a part in giving these animals a second chance at a new family,” Mr Coyle said.

“The Brisbane Showgrounds has a wide range of versatile event spaces which makes it perfect for hosting everything from animal adopt-outs to the popular Eco Expo, which will attract a large crowd to the Exhibition Building from today.

“With more than 20 versatile venues at the Showgrounds, we’re able to hold multiple events at any one time.”

Entry to the RSPCA’s Big Adopt Out, which runs from 9am to 2pm tomorrow, is a gold coin donation.

The Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD and is Queensland’s largest indoor / outdoor events site. For more information about the Brisbane Showgrounds visit www.brisbaneshowgrounds.com.au
