The Ted Noffs Foundation and Take Control Campaign for Safer, Saner Drug Laws is pleased the NSW Government is keeping the door open to removing criminal penalties for personal use.

“Despite all the work we’ve put into measures like pill testing,we know it’s not a silver bullet, until we remove criminal penalties for personal use it will be too hard for young people to get help,” said Ted Noffs Foundation CEO and Take Control spokesman Matt Noffs.

“Organisations like ours must begin to work more effectively with law enforcement. Heroin was knocked on the head by an effective partnership between health and police. If we want to see the end of ice, we need to work together again.”

The Take Control Campaign for Safer, Saner Drug Laws supports the government in considering removing all criminal penalties and also considers that depenalisation would be a worthy approach.
