Agoda doubles down to expand Customer Review Awards for 2020

Agoda’s Customer Review Awards, which celebrate service excellence reflected in quality peer to peer reviews, have been presented to 30,000 properties in over 100 countries.

For the consecutive year, Thailand firmly holds its champion position as the country with the most winning properties of this prestigious award.

This year’s, Agoda Customer Review Award extended participation from 22 to 114 markets including Asia Pacific, North America and Europe, increasing those bestowed with the Award from 7,800 to 30,000. Thailand, once again, topped the league with 4,686 properties represented, followed by Japan (3837), Indonesia (2652), Taiwan (2140), Vietnam (1850), as the top five markets with most hotels with a customer review above 8.0, offering great pricing and high availability via the Agoda platform, and properties which utilize Agoda’s intuitive Yield Control System (YCS).  The US, a new joiner in 2020, made a debut in tenth, while the Philippines (1321) (6th), Malaysia (1255) (7th), South Korea (1178),(8th)  and Australia (1047) in ninth place round out the top ten. Bangkok took over the top spot of winning cities or regions, leaping from 1145 properties last year. Followed by Bali, Tokyo, Chiang Mai, Phuket.

With over 35+ million guest reviews on the platform, Agoda understands the importance of customer reviews as Agoda’s Usage & Attitude Study 2019 data showing 84% of travelers globally read online reviews before choosing where to stay when they travel.  For hoteliers and accommodation partners, these reviews provide vital feedback to benchmark services and make improvements.

The 2020 Customer Review Awards will be awarded to winning properties on July 22 This year, Agoda has digitized the award online making it easier for hotels to download their certificate and upload their badge through the YCS App. Winners will be notified through an email and YCS App pop-up.
