Today, Agoda announces a partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Fiscal Policy Office, Ministry of Finance, and Krungthai Bank PCL to support the THB 20 billion (USD 482 billion) ‘Rao Tiew Duay Gan’, or TTogether stimulus project, and leverage Agoda’s technology and marketing expertise to offer a simplified booking and payment process for participants in the government’s subsidized domestic tourism program.

The TTogether tourism stimulus encourages Thais to plan inter-provincial trips to book and stay between18 July and 31 October 2020, to help revive domestic tourism and support hoteliers in the 76 provinces across the country. As part of the initiative, the government will subsidize five million room nights at participating hotels by 40% of room rates, limited to 3,000 baht per night, for up to five nights per person. From 15 July 2020, travelers can register to participate in the TTogether program on the program’s website, and once registered can book via Agoda mobile application from 6 am, 18 July 2020.

For hoteliers, Agoda’s automation of processes will provide advantages, particularly to independent hotels throughout Thailand, to allow them to manage these bookings more efficiently Agoda’s technology simplifies participation in this initiative by making it easier to receive payment quickly for the room, and reducing manual steps in the eligibility verification process. Hotels signing up with Agoda will be marketed and supported via Agoda’s dedicated platform www.agoda.com/ttogether.

Agoda’s platform can help distribute tourism spend into destinations outside of major tourist hotspots to benefit the wider Thai tourism market.

John Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Agoda, said: “Agoda is delighted to be part of this great initiative with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Fiscal Policy Office, Ministry of Finance, and Krungthai Bank PCL aimed at getting Thailand traveling again safely and sustainably.  As the biggest digital accommodations platform in Thailand, we are also proud to be able to help Thai travelers explore and experience all parts of Thailand, sharing the tourism benefits across the country.

By partnering with Krungthai Bank PCL and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) on this initiative, we can help all hoteliers, including small hotels, which make up over 80% of the accommodations in the Kingdom, participate in a way that is financially rewarding and time-efficient for them. We will take the tasks of managing the payment gateway processes, freeing up valuable time for our hotel partners to look after their guests.”
