KJ Slater has rejoined the team as Sales Executive Victoria, having previously represented the airline. In Queensland, Larry Burrows joins the team, following the absence of a dedicated Sales Executive in Queensland for a number of years. “We are thrilled to welcome KJ back to Aircalin, with his strong knowledge of the airline and the destination. It’s also great to have dedicated representation in Queensland with Larry based in Brisbane, promoting Australia’s closest South Pacific neighbour” says Chris Thistlethwaite, Country Manager Australia.

Commencing December 2018, the airline will offer new regular weekly frequencies from Brisbane and Sydney to Noumea. At the same time, to meet seasonal demand, additional capacity will also be deployed from Sydney and Brisbane.

Additional capacity from Brisbane

“In 2017, more than 35,000 passengers travelled on Aircalin between Noumea and Brisbane. This route has seen strong growth in traffic, with an increase of + 20% since 2013. Australians have made a significant contribution, with more Queenslanders discovering the Melanesian culture, amazing French food and beautiful beaches, only 2 hours flying from Brisbane” Thistlethwaite said.

The company has therefore decided to increase its capacity by adding an additional Tuesday flight every week to its existing schedule of three flights, from 19 February 2018.

Additional Codeshare Flights from Sydney to Noumea

In conjunction with the codeshare agreement with Qantas Airways, Aircalin will also offer additional frequency to Noumea on Wednesdays commencing on 12 December 2018. This will result in daily flights between Sydney and Noumea.

Additional flights during High season

From mid-December to mid-February, during the traditional high season, the airline will add capacity on its regional network with 17 more flights from Brisbane (including the new regular service) and 12 more flights from Sydney to Noumea.
