Amanyara Announces New Wellness Programmes For 2021

Travellers looking to relax, rejuvenate and restore their mind, body and spirit can find peace and seclusion at Amanyara, a Caribbean oasis in the Turks & Caicos. A sanctuary for personalised wellbeing, Amanyara, meaning ‘peaceful place,’ embraces the untrammeled elements of Providenciales Island, set between a marine national park and a nature reserve.

Surrounded by white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters, new wellness experiences at Amanyara for 2021 include Kundalini Yoga and Meditation and Energy Activation as well as multi-day planned wellness immersions overseen by the resorts’ new Wellness Immersion Manager, Raimonda Kersyte. Taking it a step further, Amanyara’s new Biofeedback testing and InBody machines will enable the wellness team to obtain in-depth information about a guest’s overall wellbeing, allowing specialists to create a more targeted programme, tailored to suit individual needs.

Kundalini Yoga and Meditation

“Kundalini,” a Sanskrit term meaning “coiled,” refers to a specific type of yoga that is believed to have the ability to fully awaken your potential for awareness. Kundalini Yoga can be used therapeutically to target a wide range of imbalances in the body. Research based benefits of Kundalini yoga and meditation include stress reduction and anxiety, while also improving cognitive function.

Energy Activation

Energy activation techniques are known to awaken the body, helping it to prepare for the day ahead. This personalised session typically begins with breath work, followed by stretching and relaxing, targeted at specific areas of the body. Various energetic movements are used to stimulate the lymphatic system and increase blood flow, while stimulating a relaxation response. Sound currents in the form of mantras can be used to activate specific organs, chakras, and assist in achieving a more relaxed and heightened state of consciousness.

Biofeedback Testing

Biofeedback EAV technology uses a mild electrical current to test the overall state of health and provides information at a cellular level. The results offer an in-depth look at each organ and tissue system, ranging from balanced, stressed or weakened. The test also shows microbial overgrowths such as bacteria as well as vitamin deficiencies. Biofeedback testing offers a deeper understanding of the root cause of disease during the early stages, enabling for more strategic resolutions.

InBody Machine

The InBody 570 body composition analyser goes beyond traditional body composition analysis, measuring fat, muscle, and total body water, all information required to understand a user’s fluid distribution as it relates to medical, wellness and fitness. This information can be used to create the optimal path forward to improve overall health.

Amanyara Wellness Immersions

Amanyara’s Wellness Immersions follow three pathways based on individual needs: ‘Mindfulness & Stress Management,’ ‘Weight Management & Transformation,’ and ‘Detox & Cleansing.’ Programmes are fully customized to the traveller’s wellness goals and length of stay (minimum three nights), and include private movement and specialist therapy sessions, spa treatments, and nutritional support with personally curated menus.

If weight management is the goal, the Weight Management & Transformation pathway focuses on boosting metabolism, promoting digestion and improving the movement of fluid in the body to achieve an optimum weight and overall health. The Detox & Cleansing programme looks at improving digestive, lymphatic and elimination systems with a complete detox diet using herbal remedies and complementary therapies and treatments, such as lymphatic drainage and detoxing body wraps.

Managing the stresses of daily life with a focused mind and body is essential to overall health and well-being. With the third pathway, Mindfulness & Stress Management, guests will be encouraged to look inward to heighten self-awareness through meditation, Qigong, yoga and breath work, complemented by purification and cleansing rituals along with nutritional programmes that will work to boost immunity and clarity.

Amanyara also offers a one-day Introduction to Wellness programme for guests whose itinerary cannot accommodate a multi-day immersion but still wish to incorporate a wellness aspect into their stay. Introduction to Wellness is a condensed programme that includes a spa treatment, a specialist session and a fitness session combined with a healthy lunch.

Overseeing every wellness immersion at Amanyara is Raimonda Kersyte, who most recently held the same role at Amanoi in Vietnam. A practitioner of acupuncture, herbal medicine and nutritional therapy in clinics and hospitals across the world, including London, China, Vietnam, Mexico, Lithuania and the UAE, Raimonda believes in a systemized holistic approach that incorporates a variety of suitable healing modalities for each individual. A passionate yogi, Raimonda has also studied and practiced Kundalini Yoga for 10 years.

All activities will take place among the resort’s calm surroundings, including at the Amanyara Spa that overlooks a large reflection pond, within the new wellness studio and at the fitness center, which houses the latest Techogym equipment. Guests can also take advantage of other fitness and wellness facilities including an aqua therapeutic pool, the Erika Bloom Pilates studio, a Yoga Sala, and the Club House including tennis courts, boxing studio, soccer pitch, multi-field basketball and volleyball court, and a lacrosse pitch.
