The cruise also offers many complimentary shore excursions which allow guests to explore historic townships such as Astoria – the oldest American settlement west of the Rockies. The American Empress will also take guests through breathtaking scenery including the famous Columbia River Gorge, lined with hidden waterfalls, rocky cliffs, wildflowers and also vineyards.  The cruise will delve guest into the heart of Washington’s and Oregon’s wine country, with Oregon alone boasting 725 wineries.  Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, the highly acclaimed wineries of the Pacific Northwest and their fine vintages have made a strong mark with international wine connoisseurs.
