ANA InterContinental Tokyo is delighted to present Strawberry Sensations 2020 – Bask in the Splendor of Strawberries at eight of the hotel’s restaurants and bars, from 15 January through 31 May 2020. This year, relish a refined culinary journey, bolstered by 7,000 kg of strawberries, which will be crafted into cakes, sweets, cocktails and more.

At the apex of Strawberry Sensations sits the “Strawberry Sweets Buffet” at The Champagne Bar (3FL.), where guests can unwind in the manner of Austrian nobility. Taking inspiration from Vienna and Empress Elisabeth of Austria, we encourage you to explore these lavish royal quarters while reveling in strawberry delights of the sweet, savory and sophisticated variety. The sweet options include traditional Viennese-style desserts such as Sachertorte, Gugelhupf, or Punschkrapfen enhanced with strawberry essence. Furthermore, a dedicated tasting corner features three of the famous varieties of strawberries cultivated in Japan, such as Amaou, Tochi Otome, Beni Hoppe, Saga Honoka, Sachinoka, Kirapica or Yumenoka, in addition to the strawberry and ruby chocolate items. Ten varieties of savory items including Beef Smoked Pinchos, Salmon Escabeche, and Raw Ham & Basil Cream Choux Pastries are especially enjoyable when accompanied by Champagne (served by the glass at a special price from 1,500yen).

Also on offer are two sumptuous strawberry afternoon teas at ATRIUM LOUNGE (2FL.) – of both the red and white variety, as well as 13 kinds of take-away cakes and breads at the patisserie PIERRE GAGNAIRE PAINS et GATEAUX (2FL.). Strawberry cocktails favor those with both a sweet and sour palate at MIXX BAR & LOUNGE (36FL.) and DA VINCI BAR (3FL). Strawberry desserts are served at THE STEAKHOUSE (3FL.) and TEPPANYAKI AKASAKA (37FL.) in the form of an ice cream sundae and a limited UN GRAIN collaboration dish, while every buffet outlet will have a curated dessert corner that will also capture the luscious spirit of this ruby red fruit.
