The Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort, located outside Chiang Saen, is introducing a staycation offer that is ideal for families and small groups looking to escape the concrete jungle.

Unfolding across 160 acres of Northern Thailand’s ancient jungle, Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort is perched on a hill overlooking the confluence of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar, with grazing elephants in the most stunning of natural settings below.  The luxury resort is world-famous for its elephant camp that, along with the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation (GTAEF), were set up in 2003 primarily to help street begging elephants and others that cannot help themselves.  To date over 60 elephants have been rescued from Thailand’s city streets and other aggravating circumstances, of which 21 now live in the jungle environment of the resort.

At Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort guests can participate in unique elephant experiences, including the Walking With Giants signature experience that provides an optimum way of getting to know the three-ton beauties and develop a deeper emotional connection with them.  Championing the natural joy of daily free-roaming time, accompanied by the mahouts and either a veterinarian or biologist, the activity offers insights from scientific experts about how these intelligent creatures think and behave.  Walking out to the forest unveils river and wild nature scenery and, falling in pace with the slow, steady rhythm, guests can observe the elephants’ social interaction in their native habitat.  The fun of either a river bath or mud playtime demonstrates just how cheeky these graceful animals can be.

Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort’s staycation package costs THB 16,000 net per night for up to two people staying in a Three Country View Suite and is valid for stays between 1 July 2020 and 31 July 2020.  A surcharge for one child aged four to twelve years staying with parents is applicable at THB 2,500 net per night, or THB 3,500 net per night for a third adult staying in the same suite.  Family suites that can accommodate up to six guests are also available. This special offer includes accommodation; sumptuous daily breakfast; one elephant experience per person; and highspeed Wi-Fi throughout the resort.  Those staying eight or more consecutive nights enjoy a complimentary daily Thai set menu dinner.

Additionally, guests can purchase an activity bundle at THB 5,000 net per person that affords a choice of any three activities from the Walking With Giants and Elephant Learning Experience signature experiences; 60-minute spa treatment; 60-minute private yoga or Pilates session; Royal Enfield Classic 500 sidecar tour; rice planting; 60-minute longtail boat trip on the Mekong River; 60-minute Muay Thai boxing class; and Thai cooking class.  Children can partake in activities under the supervision of qualified staff while parents enjoy other excursions.

In a world first, Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort is giving guests a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend the night observing Thailand’s majestic elephants in their natural habitat while staying in unique transparent Jungle Bubbles.  Located in the jungle, the two Jungle Bubbles are perched on raised wooden decks offering uninterrupted views of the elephants, as well as stargazing at night. The well-appointed bubble accommodation is fully air-conditioned, offering 22 square metres of indoor floor space; a 4.5-diameter bedroom and living space with a king bed and seating area under a transparent roof; and an enclosed, nontransparent en-suite shower and vanity.  Intimate touches of bathrobes and slippers; crisp white bed linen; regular and feather pillows; and exquisite bathroom amenities provide convenient functions with the comfort of home.  Guests at the resort can purchase the Jungle Bubble experience as an optional activity and spend the night from dusk till dawn, returning to the hotel in the morning.  Reduced rates start from THB 12,000 net per night for two people staying during the month of July and include a delectable dinner basket; a fully stocked mini bar; 24-hour in-room dining service; and tea and coffee making facilities.

Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort has implemented sweeping new health and hygiene measures focusing on guests’ wellbeing.  The new ‘Stay with Peace of Mind’ programme enhances levels of sanitation and uses Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved disinfectants for the use against COVID-19 and other bacteria throughout all public areas, including lobby, reception, fitness centre, pool area and guest rooms.  Enhanced hygiene measures also includes the use of electrostatic spray technology, to achieve a higher level of coverage for the application of cleaners and sanitisers for surface disinfection, the availability of hand sanitisers as well as a range of specific extra measures such as disinfecting hotel key cards, to ensure guests’ health and safety throughout their stay.  The guidelines are fully compliant with several expert advisories including Ecolab and Diversey, global leaders in delivering excellence in cleaning and hygiene technology.
