A refreshed global identity, the introduction of Africa Gateway, team expansion and a roster of new clients were the key themes for ATPI’s marine and energy specialist division throughout 2019, ending its centenary year on a high.

Further expansion saw ATPI Marine & Energy introduce Africa Gateway, a fully integrated travel solution for shipping and energy organisations operating across the African continent. This coincided with the addition of new partners to its network in Mozambique and Mauritius as the company continues to extend its footprint in Africa. Operated from Durban, South-Africa, ATPI’s Africa Gateway was developed to address the challenges that arise for clients operating in different locations across the region, specifically surrounding duty of care, invoicing and Africa’s localisation policies. The Gateway includes access to specialist consultants and on-the-ground teams qualified to deliver an integrated and consistent service.

2019 marked a significant milestone as ATPI amassed a century of experience in the marine and energy sector. The year also saw the specialist division embrace its new name, ATPI Marine & Energy, replacing ATPI Griffinstone, and launch its new website (www.atpi.com) to articulate ATPI’s core brand ethos of ‘Delivering What Really Matters’ to every one of its clients. The refreshed identity created clarity and better demonstrated ATPI’s breadth of expertise in its specialist sectors.

As well as a successful global rebrand, ATPI Marine & Energy opened this year’s London International Shipping Week (LISW19) at the official London Stock Exchange Market Open Ceremony. Nikos Gazelidis, global head of shipping, and Pippa Ganderton, director international network & account management strategy, attended the ceremony to officially launch the week-long packed schedule of industry events.

To further meet the demand of the growing energy sector, ATPI Marine & Energy also continued to enforce its footprint in the Middle East region, enhancing the on-the-ground local expertise of the business and completing its holistic service in the region.

Significant development has also been made towards strengthening ATPI’s management team with several senior appointments across the globe. These included Kelly Jones as managing director for Singapore, Yvette Araullo as managing director for The Philippines, and Claire McGuinness to project lead of the account management team in Aberdeen.

ATPI Marine & Energy joined the National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) – the body representing America’s offshore energy industry – to further reinforce its presence in the US oil and gas sector. As a new NOIA member, ATPI joined a network of major players in offshore oil and gas and renewable energy, gaining access to a wealth of information and resources as well as being part of the discussion about the future of the industry’s development.

The business was also awarded a contract by INPEX Operations Australia Pty Ltd (INPEX), a leading global oil and gas exploration and production company, for the provision of logistics travel services.

Nikos Gazelidis, global head of shipping, ATPI Marine & Energy comments:

“Delivering what really matters to businesses in the marine sector has definitely been at the core of our success over the last 100 years and will continue to be the focus for our clients for many years to come. We’re proud to celebrate our centenary year and are confident that our refreshed identity allows us to better showcase our knowledge and expertise to marine clients around the world as we look forward to 2020.”

Judy ‘JP’ Peplinski, Global Head of Energy, ATPI Marine and Energy adds:

“Each of our travel services and solutions has been created to meet the challenges presented by the energy industry. Over the last 100 years, we have thrived to make the movement of personnel across the globe more cost-effective, more efficient and more secure. We are incredibly proud of our strong heritage and look forward to delivering our continued expertise and trademark service to all clients across the thriving global energy industry in the new year.”

The team is strategically located in the core regions of focus for the marine and energy industries to allow for both sector and important regional expertise.
