Aurora Expeditions announces 2020/21 program launch events

Aurora Expeditions, a world leader in expedition cruising and an Australian home-grown polar exploration specialist, is rolling out a series of trade events to celebrate the launch of its new 2020/21 program announced last week. Guests at the events will receive first-hand information about Aurora Expeditions’ diverse mix of new and exciting itineraries, including Solar Eclipse in AntarcticaFranz Josef Land ExplorerIceland CircumnavigationWest Greenland Explorer and Costa Rica & The Panama Canal, and discover why Aurora Expeditions was awarded “Best Itineraries” in 2018 by Cruise Critic.

The launch events will take place in January and February 2019, starting in Sydney (30 January) before heading to Perth (6 February), Gold Coast (12 February), Brisbane (13 February), Melbourne (13 February), Newcastle (20 February) and wrapping up in Adelaide (20 February).

Guests at the Sydney and Brisbane events will also have the chance to meet Aurora Expeditions’ co-founders, Greg and Margaret Mortimer, both of whom have recently agreed to lead the maiden voyage on Aurora Expeditions’ new ship departing 1 November 2019 from Ushuaia to the Antarctic peninsula. There are still some berths remaining on this voyage, but they are selling fast.

Robert Halfpenny, Managing Director of Aurora Expeditions, said the events are a fantastic opportunity for Aurora Expeditions to help educate the trade about the company’s heritage and plans for the future.

“We have been overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from our trade partners and are excited to provide these events as part of our goal to educate our partners about our new and exciting expeditions,” said Mr Halfpenny.

“After selling over 95 per cent of the 2019/20 Antarctic program within 10 monthspost last year’s launch, we are thrilled to be in a position to focus on launching our new 2020/21 program. We will continue to reward early bookings by offering early bird promotions across our entire 2020/21 program, inclusive of all cabin categories, with savings of up to 25 per cent per person. It’s clear that the market is in search of unique experiences to remote regions of our amazing planet.”

Agents are encouraged to arrive at six o’clock for a networking session with Aurora Expeditions’ team of expedition leaders. Canapes and drinks will be available throughout the evening, and all guests will go into a draw to win a voyage for two aboard the Greg Mortimer valued at up to US$21,000 (AUD$29,224)*. There will also be a best-dressed prize^ for agents who dress up as an animal you might expect to encounter on an Aurora Expedition voyage.
