The country’s brightest radio stars will compete in the ultimate ratings battle at the Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs) at the Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC) this Saturday night.

Former Home & Away star and Nova drive show host Kate Ritchie and her co-hosts Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold are amongst the finalists up for awards across 39 categories, including the coveted Best On Air Team FM title.

Also nominated in this category are KIIS heavyweights Kyle Sandilands and Jackie Henderson (The Kyle and Jackie O Show) and Fox FM’s Fifi Box, Brendan Fevola and Byron Cooke (Fifi, Fev & Byron Show).

Now in its 31st year, the ACRA’s were last held in Brisbane in 2013, with the awards set to attract more than 900 of the industry’s biggest names, personalities and media executives from around Australia.

Entertaining the guests at the black tie gala will be global music sensation Morgan Evans, hip hop artist Illy and ARIA-award winner Samantha Jade.

Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said it was excited to host the prestigious event for the second time at the Royal ICC.

“We’re thrilled to host this event, as it celebrates some of the radio industries top talent from across metropolitan and regional Australia,” he said.

“The Brisbane Showgrounds is the perfect venue fit – we have hosted a series of award ceremonies here including the Queensland Music Awards earlier this year.”

The ACRAs get underway at 6:00pm Saturday 19 October.

The 22 hectare Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD and is Queensland’s largest indoor / outdoor events site.
