In an online auction event last night, Australians from all over the country bid online to raise much needed funds for those fire affected communities.

“We are extremely proud to announce that with the help of so many great Australians, we have been able to raise a significant amount of funds which will change many people’s lives,” said Mr. Hames, Chief Operations Officer for Lloyds Auctions.

The third Lloyds Bushfire Relief Auction was held last night with 100% of proceeds going directly to fire affected communities, fire-fighters and volunteers, proving a fantastic result.

“In the last couple hours in the lead up to the auction our phones were ringing off the hook with enquiries and there were several bidding battles particularly over some items donated by some high profile individuals,” said Mr. Hames.

Some of the celebrities and sporting personalities that donated to the Lloyds Bushfire Relief Auction included Dayne Beams, Lincoln Lewis, Jeff Thomson, Alan Jones and James Tedesco just to name a few.

With the auction ending shortly after 8pm last night a few of the sought after lots achieved some great results including Jeff Thomson’s Baggy Green Hat & Vest fetching $55,000.

Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees signed electric guitar fetched over $4,000, Walkinshaw Andretti United’s once in a lifetime sponsorship opportunity sold for over $25,000 and a unique American rocket achieved $7000.

Home and Away Star, Lincoln Lewis managed to raise over $3800 with his cherished items that he put up for auction also.

“We must not forget Dayne Beams AFL premiership medal from 2010 fetching $27,500 in the very first auction of the series just over two weeks ago,” said Mr. Hames.

“We are very proud of the results achieved last night and even more humbled with the amount of support from the public, companies and celebrities that donated items to support fellow Australians in need,” he continued.

Some of the charities and fire services that will receive these much needed funds include the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Wires, Wildlife Victoria and of course the RFS crews in New South Wales and Victoria.

“All in all, this auction has raised well into the 6 figures alone but the exact figure we are still confirming, and we look forward to seeing this figure increase with more auctions in the coming months,” said Mr. Hames.

“We wont stop here, we will be continuing to publish any donations from the public as long as they come in, and we have actually got our next auction online now for the 11th of February,” he said.

“As the bushfires continue to tear through Australia throughout the summer season we want and will continue to help as many fire-affected communities as possible.”
