Backyard Travel, the online boutique tour operator specializing in insider tours throughout Asia, today announced a thrilling new cultural exploration through Thailand and Myanmar. This new multi-country journey focuses on delving into the local cultures and traditions of each destination, from Bangkok’s pulsing inner city to Bagan’s temple-studded plains.

The 10-day, 9-night Thailand and Myanmar Cultural Exploration begins in Bangkok, where travelers are introduced to two of the country’s most revered sites – the Grand Palace and Wat Po. In Thailand, the journey continues through the ruins of its former capital, Ayutthaya, before traveling north to Yangon, Myanmar, to be immersed in local life, wandering the local markets and stopping in little tea shops. The temples of Bagan then follow, with the option of drifting above them on a dawn hot-air balloon flight. The tour concludes with three days exploring the villages of tranquil Inle Lake, with insider activities that provide glimpses into rural and hill tribe life.

“This tour provides expert insight into the history and culture of two former rival kingdoms,” says General Manager of Backyard Travel, Trystan Trestchenkoff. “Guests can contrast their experiences in each country and even enhance their tour with optional ‘insider’ activities along the way.”
