Backyard Travel, the online boutique travel operator specializing in insider tours throughout Asia, today announced a new family adventure tour through the wilds of Laos. Combining spectacular natural landscapes with animal encounters and insights into local life, this is a family trip will keep all travelers of all ages engaged.

The new 5-day, 4-night Waterfalls And Elephants: Luang Prabang Family Tour takes adventurers on an incredible journey through the ancient streets and tangled jungles of Northern Laos. Launching from the UNESCO World Heritage Site and former Laos capital of Luang Prabang, families get their bearings by heading off on an ‘amazing race’ through Phosy Market, before visiting the turquoise Kruang Si Waterfalls for a dip. There’s a trip to an elephant sanctuary, where travelers can watch the elephants bathe, a visit to a black bear rescue and a butterfly farm, and a morning at a local farm to learn some traditional farming techniques. The trip ends back in Luang Prabang with a family day, learning from local artisans how to tie-dye a T-shirt the traditional way.

“This family trip is what experiential travel is all about,” says Backyard Travel General Manager, Trystan Trestchenkoff. “Drawing upon our years of experience in crafting family holidays in Asia, we’re able to offer one-of-a-kind experiences that connect families both to the locale and to each other.”
