Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC is in love with love this summer. With a focus on intimate celebrations, fine details, attentive service and an exquisite experience are paramount. Set against the backdrop of the superbly renovated events space, weddings reach a new level of luxury at Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC.

“Weddings for us have always been about the attention to detail – whether it is a 10 person celebration or 800 person party,” says Sara Pumar, Assistant Director of Catering. “The fact that the Hotel has remained open throughout the spring has allowed us to continuously learn and improve. Guests are reassured to see the safety and security measures we have put into place.”

The Hotel recently put the finishing touches on a four million dollar renovation project. The project spanned six months and saw a complete re-imagining of the meetings and event spaces, as well as the Hotel’s Presidential Suites by famed architectural firm Wimberly Interiors.

“It is with an enormous sense of pride in our profession that we welcome guests back to a newly renovated product,” says Regional Vice President and General Manager David Bernand. “It has been a pleasure partnering with Wimberly Interiors to create a new space for guests to convene. Paired with our legendary service, we are honoured to exceed our guest’s expectations for weddings today.”

Wimberly Interiors, a design studio of WATG, has established itself at the forefront of hospitality design, delivering inspired designs that integrate reality with emotion. The firm’s extraordinary designs begin with a compelling story and a spirit of curiosity that inform and intrigue guest experiences with unique expression.

Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC renovations took place in two phases:

Phase 1: Suites completed in December 2019

Five full Presidential Suite renovations, including the iconic Royal Suite, and the creation of three Terrace Suites perfect for hosting small celebrations with views over Georgetown and the Potomac
Phase 2: Events space renovation completed in March 2020

Complete renovation of the legendary events spaces at Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC
New carpets by Brintons
New light fixtures by Barovier & Toso (each chandelier is custom made in Venice and valued at USD 25,000)
New wall and wood panels and new paint
New china and new glassware by Riedel
“With the Hotel so closely situated near the Potomac River, the creative inspiration derived from the ‘Nation’s River’ was core to the design of the functional space,” says Liana Hawes Young, Senior Associate and Creative Director of Wimberly Interiors. “Drawing upon the lush gardens and greenspaces that line the riverbanks, we brightened the space using a pearlised bright cream with complementary accents of warm grey and pale blue.”

An original mural, dubbed the The Serenity Wall by Philip Jeffries, gracefully accents the pre-function area with scenes from underneath the sweeping leaves of a mighty weeping willow tree. The carpeting reflects this organic design inspiration using colours from the Serenity panels throughout its pattern.

In addition to a new physical space, Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC unveils a new culinary concept for events under the expert guidance of internationally acclaimed Executive Chef Sebastien Giannini. Giannini’s new culinary concept for events is based upon offering high-end, high-touch, restaurant-style cuisine and service for groups of all sizes. Giannini’s affection for his native South of France shines through every dish with bright, sun-kissed flavours meticulously prepared to perfection. Events guests can delight in grilled sea bass with a Provençal sauce vierge or beef cheek served with a rich daube sauce, spiced with orange zest.

The events team at Four Seasons offers wedding packages from two to fifty people to 50 as permitted by local and federal guidelines at this time. Whether on the terrace of a Capital Suite overlooking Georgetown or in a ballroom big enough for social distancing, Four Seasons has a host of options.
