Best Western Hotels & Resorts has appointed Philip Hancock as National Sales Manager, responsible for managing national Travel Management Company (TMC) relationships, national corporate accounts and other key partnerships.

Managing Director of Best Western Hotels & Resorts for Australasia, Graham Perry, says he’s delighted to welcome Hancock to the team.

“With his extensive travel experience and wealth of expertise, Philip will be a real asset to the business,” says Perry. “Philip will be working closely with our TMCs and corporate market on behalf of our 100+ hotels across Australia and New Zealand.”

Hancock has worked in a number of senior management roles across the travel industry including Strategic Account Manager at Travelport, Director of Account Management at Egencia and most recently as Head of Partnerships, Australia for Hotelbeds.

His experience in hotel distribution, technology development and corporate travel will be instrumental in supporting the organisation’s growth plans for the region.

“I am truly excited to be joining the Best Western team at such an important time,” says Hancock.

“This is an organisation with a great history, fantastic brand awareness and really exciting plans for next few years. My industry experience has given me a deep understanding of what our guests, travel agents and corporate clients expect from their accommodation providers and how well Best Western is positioned to grow its footprint in the region.

“I am really looking forward to working with our hotel and travel industry partners to build on our sales success and capitalize on the great customer experiences Best Western delivers.”

Hancock’s appointment follows that of Elizabeth Beresneva, who recently joined Best Western Hotels & Resorts as Senior Revenue Manager, after roles with Amadeus IT, lecturing at the Hotel School, Sydney (Southern Cross University) and Guest Relations Manager at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel.
