Located in one of the City’s most enviable locations, the Howard Smith Wharves and Petrie’s Bight Precinct, seasoned travellers and Brisbane staycation seekers can now immerse themselves in Brisbane’s newest creative and cultural playground while enjoying five-star luxury in the heart of the River City.

Offering travellers an inviting and opulent experience in one of the City’s most exciting locations, Brisbane Marriott Hotel has been re-invented to enthuse the independent traveller accustomed to timeless style appointed with stateof-the-art facilities and genuine service.

The extensive refurbishment saw the hotel’s 267 guest rooms and suites, Executive Lounge, two floors of event space and the signature restaurant transformed, reinventing the classic luxury the five-star hotel is renowned for.

Creatively emulating elements of the hotel’s surrounding cityscape, the refurbishment project signifies the hotel’s coming of age and acts as a tribute, not only to the hotel’s place in the City but the exciting notion of what Brisbane is becoming as a vibrant social and entertainment hub.

The hotel employed the expertise of Malaysian-based company Duoz Design to carry through the detailed design formulation for the refurbishment to ensure the hotel embodied its Brisbane heritage and played tribute to the iconic lifestyle the City provides.

Brisbane Marriott Hotel General Manager, John Douglas said careful consideration was given to the hotel’s unique natural and historic surroundings and these details were effortlessly incorporated into the new design to create a multidimensional sensory experience for our guests.

“From the ambient lighting used throughout the hotel, reminiscent of a balmy Brisbane evening to the colour palette utilised in the hotel rooms, specially selected to reflect the amber tones that highlight the city’s skyline at sunset, with every element created as a tribute to the Brisbane region.

“The design team was able to successfully embody the sophistication of the hotel and incorporate this elegance into the revised design and elevated finishes that have, in turn, made the refurbishment result exceptional.

“We are proud to welcome guests to experience the unveiling of this special refurbishment, made even more memorable as the hotel celebrates its 21st year.”

The hotel’s sense of grandeur is first realised upon entry at the hotel’s magnificent lobby where elaborate marble tiles lead the hotel guest to a gold-framed elevator. The lobby’s centerpiece, an illuminated cascading chandelier hovers overhead, completing the sophisticated and grand sense of arrival.

Keeping up with its enviable five-star status, the rooms at Brisbane Marriott Hotel are complete with breathtaking views of either the Brisbane River, taking in the Story Bridge and Kangaroo Point Cliffs or the River City skyline.

Majestic ceiling-high bedheads in colours of the paperbark tree contrast against walls of gum grey and deep earthy brown to reflect the warm colours found in the surrounding pockets of Brisbane’s urban forest. Textured soft furnishings contrast beautifully against historic marble, painstakingly restored to live on in the hotel’s newly appointed bathrooms as an ode to the hotel’s past.

The ambient custom mood lighting is provided by the industry-leading ASSO ABLOY Orion system, a technical inclusion that controls the lighting and air conditioning in each the hotel’s rooms, elevating the guest experience.

The addition of this advanced technology enables front desk staff to conveniently adjust lights and air conditioning upon guest check-in to ensure a welcoming and comfortable first impression. In addition, sensors on each of the hotel room doors and within the rooms enable movement to be detected, ensuring the temperature is regulated to a default of 21 degrees when the room is vacant.

The hotel’s signature restaurant and local socialising destination, Motion Dining has been revived to be inclusive of an array of dining spaces that maximise the hotel’s picturesque location. Here diners can perch at tables overlooking the theatre of the Grill or sit at high set tables in M bar or alfresco dining overlooking the river on MDeck.

Overseen by award-winning Executive Chef Peter Iwanczyk, Motion Dining’s menu proudly showcases the best locally sourced ingredients, including some of the freshest Queensland prime steaks, oysters and Queensland’s finest seafood. The restaurant’s Friday and Saturday night Seafood Buffet successfully encompass the essence of Queensland dining.

Further cementing itself as Brisbane’s place to see and be seen, Brisbane Marriott now accommodates events of all occasions with 12 flexible spaces divided across two floors. Created to maximise space and provide refreshingly modern rooms for delegates, the event space is also equipped with specialised AV equipment.
